such a shame he got injured before the tests.... i love and hate the lions tours... they're great, but it ruins international sides that have high representations in the squad... wales in 2005, after the lions, they were an empty shell, all the best players were injured, henson, stephen jones, gethin jenkins, shane, alfie, shanklin, martyn... all injured, and as a result, in 2006, wales were useless and france came out on top. 2010, year after lions... guess who won the grandslam again?

I'd have picked Ferris ahead if not for Croft. My only concern about Croft is, he isn't an effective ball carrier.

@vinniechan true, and I would have done exactly the same but even though I don't support the english I do quite like Tom Croft and think he is relatively frail but decent, quick and a good runner in open space and he took his two chances whereas Ferris is much more upfront and gets over the gainline, you just have to pick the team for the team you play against and combat their style in the best way really

@marcher87 As a Welshman, I can safely say they are both world class players, and Croft is one of the few English players I actually like.

This was a great tour, shame about the petty nationalist comments. Can't wait for Australia in '13, with the power of the English tight 5, Irish back row, and Welsh backs, with, of course, some exceptions in certain positions, I can see Australia being blown away.
