  • wow, he wasnt safe letterman cut him short just like his life.

  • he sounds like yosemite sam when he screams

  • 2,559 married guys watched this. and laughed their ass off

  • one of the most epic things said before Sam's act... "Brace yourselfs. I'm not kidding"

  • Classic.

  • @MuzzafuzzaGaming It really was. Hilarious.

  • He fucking killed it, he was a BEAST and especially for a debut!!!

  • The best! Pryor, Kinison, and Murphy.

  • 93 married women watched this

  • I have been giving this guy a chance to make me laugh since about the time of this particular performance. It has not happened. So many great comedians love him but I just do not get it.

  • @rickygervais1776 That's because you like Ricky Gervais, the exact opposite of Sam Kenison.

  • For what it's Worth,

I'd say this is the funniest, most entertaining

    Stand-Up Performance I've ever seen

    on Network Television!

    OUTSTANDING

  • i realise it was different than it is now and i have quite an eclectic taste in comedy including a lot of the older ones but this guy ive just never found funny

  • i dont get it hes not funny.

  • @entragin99 comedy was different then it is now

  • @entragin99 because ur an idiot

  • I sure miss him. I go into Sam Kinison mode every so often.

  • You know I've been reading the comments and lately a lot of people are now questioning his screaming so I'll answer HE WANTED TO GET THE FUCKIN MESSAGE OUT.!!!!!!

  • jesus christ why does he scream so much??

  • @khrixtian18 He was a Baptist preacher before he was a Comic. The style carried over into his routine. He felt if he could get the point of his comedy across the same way a preacher gets the word of god across it would make him unique. And it did. RIP Sam.

  • I'm drinking beer, but I can't fucking drink it during this else I'll choke to death.

  • That man never married.

  • I remember watching this live. I think I spent the next month telling his jokes to anyone that would list... Without the yelling of course!

    RIP SAM

  • HOLY CRAP. After all these years I finally found the voice of the scream in The beginning of the song "I'm The Man" By Anthrax. (Recorded Version) I wish I had heard of this man before. Two awesomes in one!

  • I miss and love you Sam Kinison!!!!

  • People are laughing their ass off in hell right now. Lucky bastards. I miss you Sam Kinison.

  • who in their sane mind would dislike this :O u 91 ppl are sins

  • LIVE WHERE THE FOOD IS

    -Truth

  • SOMEBODY SHOOT ME! THIS ISNT A MALL THIS IS HELL!

  • this man would put george carlin in the poorhouse

  • @Multi80sfan there both dead bruh

  • @420Nelbone

i know that im just saying.

  • @Multi80sfan Different styles, both legends

  • Well, you know there's probably a married guy in the desert...starving because his wife wants to live close to her mom. He's not there by choice. He's picking the weeds out of the sand in front of his hutt every week on his cell phone with his freind saying "Kill me."

  • yes

  • I knew Sam the day he started, Sunday Night, open mic night at the Comedy Anex in Houston. It was his first time on stage as a comic and it was my first time as a bartender.

    I miss you Sam.

  • My favorite part was when he screamed.

  • This is amazing.

  • live where the food is,thank you sam ,not exactly pc but true, evert fucking year since i can rememember, you live in a desert, move away from there and stop having children.

  • Late night... Not the tonight show.

  • Now thats a kick ass performance

  • man i been watching bill hicks videos for years and i never knew about this guy. hicks must've been influenced by this guy!

  • Dated.

  • @godofthisshit yet timeless!

  • I'll bet Lou still remebers that face. lol.

  • @scvila

    He might have that face!

  • His screaming is just like the same joke over and over

  • miss you sam!!!!

  • LMFAO!!! I'm fucking crying over here...... Ahhh, I miss Sam

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • this video was shot eight days after i was born. i love sam kinison

  • haha...this is love....i wouldnt lie again...awesome

  • I was raised in a southern baptist church as a kid as a preacher's son, and holy crap...him at the beginning xD That's exactly the kind of preaching I've had to hear soooooooo many times. hahaha.

  • @kazoorocketman54 Well, Sam was not only a preacher's son - but Sam was a preacher himself before turning to comedy. That's where that bit came from. If you want to check out his life, I just finished reading "Brother Sam", by Bill Kinison, his brother. Also a preacher, by the way.

  • @garylobo3 I'll have to give that a read sometime! Thanks for the recommendation! :)

  • Lou had a great life, he was saved, ohhhhhh yessssss, saved.. saved by above.. by a fucking screaming face....

  • holy hell he reminds me of bill hicks

  • this was one of his best on tv

  • whats the song at the end?

  • 2:49 Can't stop laughing

  • kinison is SO predictable. carlin only got funny when he QUIT DRUGS.

  • @noodlesmealey What do you mean predictable?

  • lol "how sad... How cruel... Because you know the film crew could give this kid a sandwich." so trueee

  • For the people who didn't find this bit funny and think he did nothing but scream I suggest you check out his final album, Live From Hell, which was released after he died. The screaming is very much toned and and he has some interesting takes on the first Gulf War and Pee Wee Herman's arrest. if you dont like that, well, that's cool. But I figure you might as well listen to what I think is his best album and then make an opinion.

  • Put this on the next space explorer. Slay those aliens!

  • 4:19

  • The dislike bar looks like a joint that's just been lit.

  • Catch Letterman trying his best not to laugh about world hunger at the end.

  • Best comedic performance to ever appear on Letterman.

  • I can never watch Bill Hicks again. I heard that Hicks copied him, but I never thought to this extent. Joke style, expressions, faces, sounds, body-postures, themes, everything is very similar to Bill's 80s comedy.

  • Comment removed

  • @aivo00 Yo man Hicks, Carlin, Bruce, Pryor are all legends have some respect. They both influenced one another i love them both but you have to understand that influence is different then plagerism. If you want o know what plagerism is, i would advise you to look up Dennis Leary. Both Kinison & Hicks are in the top 5 comedians ever. For me personally it's #1 Hicks and #2 Kinison. Peace.

  • @aivo00 it's very hard for comics when they're just starting out to not copy some of the mannerisms and intonations of their own favorite comedians...I agree with you but I don't think Hick's did it on purpose...no comic wants to be known as being like that other guy :p

  • @aivo00 its called passion. hicks loved kinisons style but when i watch bill i dont think of sam. they both rocked. god forbid more than 1 human being on the planet gets so pissed off at shit that they want to scream. and without disrespecting sam, bill went on to do a lot more insightful comedy and would have gone further than sam had neither of them died. they had very different deliveries and viewpoints on things, the only similarity was that bill yelled once in a while.

  • Love you Sam. Gone far too early.

  • He owns this audience as soon as he swaggers to the mic. Classic.

  • I crack up every time I watch this, and I didn't know him while he was alive. What a great comedian.

  • My gym teacher calls me Sam Kinison and I don't know why.

  • Not funny to me, he's just screaming.

  • I'll bet Lou never forgot that face....

  • I laughed myself silly at 3:38 at the thing/noise Sam made.

  • I miss Sam and I miss the old Dave too. It's like he's dead and the new not funny, hateful political Dave took over.

  • @krammit69 are you talking about Dave Thomas? the Wendys guy?

  • @superdudeaway yeah

  • Most people dont' know this; but Sam Kinison was actually the person they had slated to play Al Bundy. Ed O'niel was even more perfect but this guy was fabulous in his own right and he had wonderful solutions to everyday problems.

  • I've got a responsibility to the neighborhood for this crabgrass....classic.

  • dane cook is the justin bieber of the comedy world

  • @kiggittykyle Actually, more like Rebecca Black. I know Bieber's lyrics suck and he truly is a piece of shit, but at least he can play some instruments and whatnot, while Rebecca Black is truly talentless, much like Dane Cook

  • @kiggittykyle quit dissin dane you fag....just cuz the guy figured out the way to be famous unlike your bitchass

  • @kiggittykyle na he's even worse than beiber

  • @kiggittykyle No. He's the Kanye West.

  • remeber this face... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow this is the first time Ive seen Sam Kinison and I must say... He is brilliat lol. Its not what I was expecting

  • No matter how many times I hear the 'remember this face' gag, it's still funny.

  • Nobody has this type of energy on stage.

  • Kinison RULES!!!

  • Sam Kinison was very funny but he was one fucked up man who rufused to take of his daughter and for that he can fuck off.

  • Kinda funny. I just don't see the need for his constant screaming tantrums. Doesn't really add any humor in my opinion.

  • @Illumirage Tell that to 1985.

  • @kuriosity89

I would if I could talk to a year...

  • @Illumirage If I could talk to 1985 I'd say "WHY THE FUCK DID YOU EVER LEAVE US?!?"

  • @Illumirage

His stuff was very different in the 80's...He was Robin williams favorite amateur

  • He definately yelled a lot more than Bill Hicks anyway

  • Cut down way too early...

  • i miss him one of a kind.

  • Comment removed

  • this guy is hilarious!

  • What year was this ?

  • @Lazlow5 1985

  • I love this and realize what a talent we lost. I am glad that I didn't have the crazy life he had.

  • Man oh man Lou sure as hell picked the right night to be on Letterman!

  • Sam Kinison busted by the Angel Cops for telling Dirty Jokes in Heaven-

  • Sam was the best truly missed

  • Sam was the best truly misses

  • A national treasure.....

  • bababooey

  • dane cook.....hu hu...who's that...

  • "You ever been married, Lou? Do me a favor, if you think about getting married....remember this face....Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" Fucking priceless! Sam we miss you!

  • I hope Lou did get married one day, and he's somewhere out there right now with that face scarred into his mind...

  • i was so bored i was actually wored about my yard man Sam was great!

  • So funny, so original, so real. One of the greats. Loved him in 'back to school'

  • ROLMFAO!

  • i love bill hicks, but his friend sam, is as clear as bill, bravo

  • Benny Hill and Sam Kinison died the same week. The world has not been the same since.

  • A true classic. Poor Lou is just overtaken....Grazie

  • If Sam Kinison were still alive he'd be my ONLY choice to play the serial killer in the screenplay I'm writing.

  • Cracks me up every time.

    AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • brilliant, always and forever. this doesn't date.

  • Sam you are missed :(

  • Ad Sam to the list of one of a kinds. Sam was the comedy version of "Rattle and Hum"-LOL He never compromised, what you saw was what you got. I laughed my ass off many a time to Sams rants, I am a lover of rants matter of fact. I think its one of the funniest comic devices, no holds barred, tell it like it is, loud and dirty so it goes deep and sticks. Sam was the drill sargeant of standup. His X rated bit at Rodney Dangerfields club is a scream. RIP Sam and Rodney.

  • And do Lou never wed.

  • If you don't like Sam, get the F out of my country!!. This man was a legend before his time. 82 dislikes?! wtf.... To each their own I suppose though.

  • @bandit2280 lol "GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY... but I'm a tolerant guy, to each his own I suppose." ;----)

  • Difference between Dane Cook and Sam Kinison = Sam is funny.

  • comparing sam kinison to dane cook? i just threw up a little

  • @statephone You and me, both!!

  • @statephone Dane Cook doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Sam Kinison.

  • @statephone there is no comics alive today as good or close to kinison cept maybe dice clay or daniel tosh check out completely serious by tosh i was around when kinison started and there is none better rip sam love ya miss ya

  • @statephone a little????

  • @statephone No, that's not even close to the disgust a feel when somebody compares a legend like Kinison to a fresh-out-of-highschool-girl chasing douchebag like Dane Cook. I'm sure we are not the only ones who share this opinion. Cheers, fellow gormandizer of classic stand up. Long live Sam Kinison.

  • @statephone Comparing Sam Kinison to Dane Cook is like comparing Led Zeppelin to Milli Vanilli.

  • @PapaWolfman Led Zeppelin hell yeah man

  • @crowleygavehugs Crowley, I don;t know if he ever did it but I would love to hear Kinison do Zeppelins Rock and Roll.

  • He was a REAL stand up comic...now they think you can't be funny without using a swear word every few seconds.

  • wow

  • seems funny,

but the problem is our stupidity,

not the concept of the family-

I recommend Voddie Baucham to you,

if you want to restore the family...

  • 74 people have neither a sense of humor, nor a soul

  • I remember when I first saw him on Married with Children, best episode ever.

  • WHAT SEASON WHAT EPISODE!?!?

  • @batrama310 The name of the episode is "It's a Bundyful Life" not sure of the season. It's an xmas episode.

  • haha brace yourself and im not kidding

  • what a classic this guy was. Rest in peace.

  • rest in peace sam

  • tonight show?

  • DAMN!!! Kinison was AWESOME!!! One of a kind. Never will we see a guy like this again. They broke the mold when they made Kinison.

  • true

  • The film crew could give this kid a sandwich! lol!

  • should have been a metal singer

  • @AreaQNH870 he was he sang wild thing with slash, idol and jovi

  • blew their minds then walked off like a pimp!!!!

  • one of the greatest of all-time, RIP Sam. thanks for posting this.

  • It was all going well. Good concepts, grate delivery, grate pace and timing... then he re-hashed a Bill Hicks joke and he lost my respect.

  • god, we miss you sam!

  • Man I really envy anyone who was able to go and see this guys stand up acts when he was still alive. I was way too young to even know anything about him when he died :(
