@MahoukoChan More than that. The visual novels came first and the anime was based off of them. They explain the entire store and they represent the official story not the anime. The anime did a pretty good job of following them though it did leave parts out and only really covered the first 4 novels. There's also a manga version out.

To be fair, Lucifer rarely use her sword unless you're in a combo or you use your Hard Attack, Dlanor uses her sword like a broadsword and Kanon fights with his sword like if it was like a slashing weapon.

I think Bern might fight with her sickle like if it was a Bo Staff or a spear.

And Capcom is somewhat creative...I mean, look at Sean compare to the other Shotoclones. Okay, so maybe they're not as created as with their Shotos.

I al ready watched the higurashi series and I enjoyed it but I loved umineko much better but was dissatified with the anime version. This visual novel is good but the bad character design stops me from reading it. oH by the way how does chiru differ from the original umineko (besides additional characters) I hope there will be an anime for chiru soon.

@mansuru oh don't let the art bother you. besides, the better art patch came out. get the vn, then get the english patch and art patch. sadly, there won't be another anime for chiru, my personal belief is deen will mess it up again, and will get bad ratings. it's gets utmost complex, more than the first four arcs. you learn solutions to each arc in chiru, who beatrice truly is, and what really happened on rokkenjima. beato and battler also get married ^.^

Compared to other trolls from different media, Bernkastel is one of the most powerful and intelligent of all trolls, as she has yet to make a mistake that costs her position (i.e. Kyuubey, Lambdadelta), causes a huge amount of embarrassment (Hazama, Izaya, Beatrice), or that costs her life (Aizen, I-no probably)......unless she wanted to, which makes her more.....trollish.

In Umineko, The witch of Miracles, Bernkastel, reveals that she played a "game of endurance" against Lambdadelta, which is Higurashi. As a player, she created, or used, her piece named Furude Rika to see if she could withstand the tragic fate. Because Rika died and was reborn constantly for more than 100 years, a fragment from her horrible memories was created into Frederica Bernkastel, which probably is the serious personality she has in Kai, and that Bern no longer needs to use Rika??

Featherine created the Higurashi game board. She created 2 pieces to play against each other, Furude Rika and Miyo Takano. Rika was never given an explicit goal, so she went through kakera after kakera hopelessly attempting to figure out what to do, this eventually led to the birth of Bernkastel. As the game went on, and on, eventually Lambdadelta was born within Takano, who was given almost complete certainty of victory. Eventually Bern won through a miricle, -----

@Gordygoo12 Hmmm... Most likely she was Featherine's piece. Featherine was implied to have come into existance before Higurashi, perhaps Hanyuu was just her double, kinda like Furudo Erika and Bern.

Also, I'd like to amend something, I read another comment somewhere that actually made a bit more sense. Higurashi was a game between Featherine and Lambdadelta, with Hanyuu and Takano serving as their "Double" pieces and Rika was the "Battler" of Higurashi, the one victory was dependent on.

and i thought bern became a witch after proving the infinite monkey theorem true... though i guess rika winning would prove that too.

Also, they're witches. 1000 years to them could be 6 years for us, it wouldn't really surprise me if after one game Bern became the most powerful witch. They kinda have a weird sense of logic.

@SFGK Actually, it's all conjecture based on conversations between Lambda, Bern, and Featherine and a bit of Higurashi's plot. It's my opinion... :P

Though I'd like to make an addendum, the game was between Featherine and Lambda, and Bern was born in the process of the game. Hanyuu was the only way Featherine helped Bern, she didn't guide her, just revived her and kept her in the game.
