I live in NC and I was RIGHT in the middle of the tornado

I was thinking a minute ago about all those so-called Christian people who were only a short time ago arguing that the Tsunami in Japan was "God's punishment" for Pearl Harbor, or their wartime atrocities. I would love to hear these same learned sages commenting on the storms in the Southern States of the US - could these storms be God's punishment for Slavery ... or for their present bigotry and racism?

@pdorn777 It's not unusual to have large "wedge" type tornadoes in the South, because of the huge amount of moisture close to the ground that makes the visible funnel bigger. The one that hit Raleigh, however, appears to have leveled at least a few homes and unroofed/collapsed others. I'd say it will end up being F3 (EF3) at the least. The same storm also destroyed a Lowe's hardware store in Sanford, to the S.W. of Raleigh.

Definitely a power flash around :40 seconds or so. Structure on this thing is insane for something on the coastal plain

@LolaBunny458 Yea..i was pretty nervous but my dad wouldn't get closer cuz the storm was literally right in front of us at 3:29.
