Good, strong horses. It's sad that abroad, horses are bred simply for racing and they become tinier, slimmer, and as a result they break their legs after a couple of races.
Really tragic what we do to these excellent beasts.
There are many, many work horses outside of England. All horses are descended from a small, light horse - the draft is a "cold blood", the Arab is a "hot blood", and from the Arab you get the Thoroughbred. Their legs don't break because they're slender, they break because the bones are of poor quality - the Arab has the tiniest bones of all, and the strongest. A large horse can break a bone just as easily as a smaller horse.
You're absolutely wrong. The Arab is a product of the desert and of probably a few thousands years' selective breeding. The bones of an Arab are as dense as ivory - in fact they are stronger than the bones of all other horses. THAT is why - Arabs make the very best endurance horses. They're tough as nails, have very strong bones and strong, broad feet.
@Misterunnamed no thats b/c thay are only about 2 years old when thay start raceing them and their bones are not fully developed yet thay pump them full of roids to make them grow to fast for their bones
shires are wonderful..

@universalradio
The Arab is bred to be slimmer, and faster. As a result of irresponsible breeding the bones become weaker.

Blimey, that looked a bit hairy! Hope it was ok. Why did the class trot into the ring, I wonder. The horses as usual are fab.
