Ah, the famous but perhaps now forgotten pairs, how beautiful they were breathtaking and none other to replace, G & G.......I find it strange to see it re interpreted with a romantic air but still they are my current favorite dance pair, I admire them so, to reach this level at their respective age.

When you see them, especially in the beginning, you would think that they were completely in love... they have the sweetest, most amazing chemmistry that I have ever seen. Even if they hated each other, on ice, they are the best pairing.
This reminds me of some Grace Kelly-like, old Hollywood type of film...it's just so dreamy and romantic and beautiful, like dancing under twilight. I'm so happy for them that they won.
It's such a rare combination for the music, choreography, impeccable skating, artistry, and just overall programming to come together so seamlessly. It's the kind of combination that wins olympic gold. Mahler's adagietto is just divine, they really have a knack for picking FD music. That being said, wasn't a big fan of last season's salsa-y mix, glad that they have returned to a more classic, soft, yet dramatic, music choice. I think it suits their style more. Hope they do a repeat in 2014!
I freely admit that when the Olympics started, I was rooting for the Americans out of respect for my country. But as soon as these two started skating, my heart belonged to them. This was the most breathtakingly exquisite dance I've ever seen on ice. Absolutely magical from start to finish!
@Katiekinsism I'm Canadian, and I love Davis/White. If they had won, I wouldn't have been at all upset, they are also a brilliant team. The rivalry between them and V&M help each other and is good for ice dance. My two favourite ice dance teams are V/M and D/W
I wasn't sure about the major revision of ice dance requirements in recent years, but V&M weave all those elements into a beautiful, seamless performance. C. Dean complained in 1994 that he had to follow the (old) rule book to the letter to choreograph "Face the Music," and it showed. He and Jayne might have won a 2nd gold if they hadn't been so hamstrung. Dance has come long, long way since then and V&M have taken full advantage. I'm with everyone else -- love them!
I'm American and they absolutely deserved that gold medal. Still watching it today, still makes me cry every time. They are perfect, flawless. I'll be rooting for them next time around!

I remember watching all of the Ice dance performance and when Tessa and Scott finish they performance I said to my mother ''They won the gold medal after this'. Such beautiful, touching, romantic, flawless and epic performance they gave us. They look so much in love (from entering the ice until they come out of it) that is unreal to believe they're not together!! I cry and screamed from happiness when they won and I'm from Paraguay :) Imagine if i was a Canadian Lol!
It was just wonderfull, when they came, after all these very colorfulls programs, wear white costumes, and it looks so gracefull and innocent, and then they star dance.<3

Ice dancing has long since become very formulatic and static and they have made it magical, graceful, and nature again!!!! Can't wait to see what they will do in future years!!!

Those two... This is the first I've ever seen them, on this Youtube video, and they're now my favorite Ice Dancers. Ever. That was so perfect and so gorgeous, I can't even believe it. It nearly brought me to tears. They have such chemistry on the ice, and they're so natural. So exquisite.
I'm pretty sure I'll never forget the night they won mainly because I'd had the worst day and they just lifted my spirits right up and gave me the motivation to stay up til midnight to finish a boatload of homework
This music works so well with them. Those twizzles were perfectly in sync. And their edges are so presise and clean. I believe they have the best skating skills in the whole competition.
i'm an american and just watching this now (i missed it during the olympics), and though i'm a huge purporter of davis and white, i must say this was an extremely moving performance. well deserved gold for virtue and moir.
This performance gives me the chills (the first time since Michelle Kwan's 1998 National perfomance). This program is truly a masterpiece. I feel that this is the best ice dancing performance of all time (even better than Torvill and Dean's '84 Olympic performance).
I think they were by far the best in Vancouver. They drew me in so much. More than the singles and pair skating. I fell even more in love with ice dancing.
Guys, watch Katia's tribute to Sergei and then pay close attention to Tessa when you watch this. It's kind of sad; this is what Katia and Sergei were supposed to be. This is what they were supposed to look like. At the beginning, when she turns around and Scott's waiting for her, you kind of go, "Awww..."
you are right. The two skates can definitely be seen as almost companion pieces to one another. I'm not sure if it is on purpose or if it is solely because both were choreographed by Zueva-- but certain moves by Gordeeva are echoed by Tessa... almost as if this is how the skate should have been if Sergei was there.
What did Scott say in the very end of the performance when he hold Tessa in his arms ? "..... .....very much" ? I cannot read it on his mouth ! What do you think?

@Dalriada35 clearly you don't know ice dancing cause the footwork was not scrappy, it was flawless & the circular step sequence was perfect & mostly done on 1 foot, which is the most difficult.
@Dalriada35 I've watched this over and over, and cannot see ANYwhere in this where the footwork is "scrappy". Even when Scott's blade hits a groove in the ice in the last big rotational lift his foot work is so strong and clean. I honestly think under the old scoring system this would have been a 6.0 moment. I don't think I've seen such an iconic Olympic Free Dance since Torvill and Dean's Bolero.
They are absolutely adorable. On ice they have such chemistry it really makes for an extremely beautiful performance! I met Tessa and Scott last October, they're too frigging adorable when they're together!!!!!!! They have a really good relationship ^ ^
@bunchabethie Me too and it still does! I got to see them do their skate rehearsal in Vancouver (hometown) during the Olympics, days before they performed for the medal. They are as adorable and perfect and real as they seem. They make me happy!

omg i met tessa virtue, true story. one of the teachers at my school is Mr. Virtue which is tessa virtues brother and she came to visit our school!! I EVEN GOT TO HOLD HER GOLD MEDAL! IT WEIGHS LIKE A TONNE!! lol and i swear im not making it up

the footwork was a bit scrappy just before the 3.00min mark - but how much trust is needed for that lift! Amazing.

@Dalriada35 clearly you don't know ice dancing cause the footwork was not scrappy, it was flawless & the circular step sequence was perfect & mostly done on 1 foot, which is the most difficult.

@Dalriada35 I've watched this over and over, and cannot see ANYwhere in this where the footwork is "scrappy". Even when Scott's blade hits a groove in the ice in the last big rotational lift his foot work is so strong and clean. I honestly think under the old scoring system this would have been a 6.0 moment. I don't think I've seen such an iconic Olympic Free Dance since Torvill and Dean's Bolero.

They are absolutely adorable. On ice they have such chemistry it really makes for an extremely beautiful performance! I met Tessa and Scott last October, they're too frigging adorable when they're together!!!!!!! They have a really good relationship ^ ^

@bunchabethie Me too and it still does! I got to see them do their skate rehearsal in Vancouver (hometown) during the Olympics, days before they performed for the medal. They are as adorable and perfect and real as they seem. They make me happy!
