Great movie, when he's in the snow with his father, is that just his imagination, heaven, or a recreation of the past (with the audience seeing him as an adult instead of as a child)??? That is one part of the movie I didn't understand

@2it2ga it is supposed to be him meeting his father for the first time since his father died when he was in his mother's womb. But since Uxbal can talk to the dead it makes you wonder why when they meet in the after life they have such a informal additude towards each other.

Apart from that I must say that this was one of the best movies I have ever seen.  Very sad film and it actually made me cry and there are not allot of films that can make me shed tears! Javier Bardem is superb!!

I finally had a chance to watch this movie a few months ago and it was by far one of the best movies I had ever seen. Very heartbreaking at times but in the end you are left with a sense of peace for Javier's character. Please do yourself a favor and watch this movie, prove to Hollywood that there are those among us that actually enjoy films of this caliber as oppose to 3D trash that has been spewing out as of late.

By far one of my favorite movies ever. I took my girlfriend to go see it, and even though she doesn't speak spanish, she understood what was happening and was just as drawn in as I was.

"biutifully" written, the acting was incredible, the direction was perfect. I hate going to see movies these days that are all shit, with shit actors and obvious story lines. This movie was artistic and real and kept you intriqued the whole time. I hope more people go and see this.
