By fragmenting (or "interrupting") etc I feel you have succeeded in concentrating a reader's attention on these issues (and peculiarities of the human mind or character). These intense issues - possibly to be studied page by page.
And by having stuff online and so on you then "dissappear" as an author - it's as if someone asked you - did you Jack Ross write this book or series and you would or could say - yes -but who is Jack Ross?..and it has a comic side and serious side -as you say the deeper things is the "Trouble in Mind" aspect. As Gabriel says that is everywhere in the so called Trilogy).
Jack are you saying that your strategy was that the very structure of say Nights (being mysterious as if found) was to create a fiction of a fiction (metafiction -is that what that means?) ...so say Nights is thus a "story" about how a story came about. So the page elements "force" or encourage a potential reader to ask questions of the very nature of your book ad books or writing in general..of course there is somewhat the "postmodern approach" and earlier there is say Tristram Shandy...
