hey ive got a few questions im planning on getting a 2010 lancer gts but ive heard rumors like always first i heard that the paint is really bad and chips almost immediately is that true? second i heard that it doesnt accelerate fast and it feels like a regular car even after simple mods. have you raced it? does it pick up pace quick? i mean im not a racer but i want a semi quick car if u could let me know thatll becool thanks..

@TheNolimits21 Yes the paint chips. Mitsubishi has pretty poor quality paint as far as chipping goes.

No. It feels quick. Unless you are coming from an already fast car, a stock GTS will feel quick. Most mods just don't add a lot of power.

If you want actual speed, get a Ralliart. Most people say Evo, but most people don't factor in that they are $30,000+, which is out of the price range for someone looking into a GTS. A used 09 Ralliart can go for under $20,000, and is A LOT faster than a GTS.

@yakovgolyadkin this is fairly true i have an 09 ralliart i got for about 20 and it's pretty quick plus you get the same engine as the evo but with a smaller turbo and some different internals so upgrading it wouldn't be much of a problem

@TheNolimits21 Paint chips are a problem but only in one area (right in front of the backtires on the sideskirts and above the skirts) the solution is to get front mudflaps because the front tires spit rocks up and hit that area that sticks out in the back. Make sure you get those mudflaps or you will be like me and the first cleaning after winter you will discover thousands of little rock chips. Not fun!

yeah i almost shit my pants cause i thought it would only get to about 120, its a 2008 lancer es 2.0L, the 131 wasnt top'd out either it was only on a little bit less than a mile stretch. its a stick so the redlining helpd alot

i have a lancer ES 2009 Manuel. id have to say if your going to get one, grab the manuel, its by far the best stock clutch ive drivin in a car. not to soft yet not that hard, and the car has a some power in it, just put some intake and exhaust and youll get more starting power and youll take off way faster. i love the car.

You go alot faster when it is in Automatic mode. Do not make your shifts yourself. I only use it when i want to speed up faster. such as, in narrow roads and in cities. :) Try that one. I also got a 09 Lancer GTS =168HP. and try putting the performance chip. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. Today i just hit 125 miles/per hour EASY... Plus it was going more if i would have forced it.

The Evo X is slightly slower in the 1/4 mile... Evo IX can do 13.0, I think the X is at 13.4. Also... the IX has an iron-block, where the X has an aluminum block... We don't know how much and for how long it can handle high power.
