  • Imagine him while driving a car. :P

  • To those who asked about sheet music for this work - sorry to break it to you, but this arrangement is unpublished. I have a copy of both the CD and the DVD ; the CD gives pub-

lisher information and as to this organ arrangement, the info says - arrangement unpublished..

Many of the Choir's and organists' arrangements fall under this category. As to the above, I

wish I could have the this also - I am an organist so I know just how you feel!

  • For anyone in any doubt, this is NOT the Aeolian-Skinner organ of the Mormon Tabernacle, but the equally great Schoenstein organ in the conference centre next door. I wish this video was tagged with words like 'Schoenstein' so it got picked up in searches for that firm's organs... Pity also that the acoustic in this space is so terribly dry! Pity it's owned by bloody Mormons too...

  • @TheMysticalOrgan hahahahaha, your made my night!

  • @druther , you hear the left foot ;)

  • Watch closely the clip from 0:37 - 0:45: what you see is not what you're hearing!

  • Could anybody tell me where I could get a downloadable version of the sheet music for this?! Please and thankyou!

  • Today I dropped a quarter down the sewer trying put it in the parking meter and this guys got all this going on????

  • I bet he has more wives than Warren Jeffs.

  • Organist?

  • @robertgift Try Richard Elliott

  • @rattyroger Thank you.

Very well played. That pedal part is awkward and tricky.

  • harmony with one foot....sick

  • amazing...

  • Ohhhh and he had th nerve to snap while played lol

  • i bet hes a good tap dancer too

  • One would think if there were any a time to pull on the theater organ stops of the Orchestral Div. with trem in the not so mighty Schoenstein it would be this!

  • sounds like church-pop

  • muahaha funny shoes

  • love it!!

  • WOW !!!

  • WOW !!!

  • Holy smokes! I can barely keep up watching it! :)

  • Amazing, those feet!

  • Rocks it!

  • I've watched this guy for years and he never ceases to amaze me! I think if Bach had seen that his jaw would have ended up like mine: ON...THE...FLOOR!

  • And then woman say, we man aren't multitasking-able!!!!! ;)

  • Go Rick! You sound great! Yeah, my brush with fame is that I knew him in his college days and he even accompanied ME! lol. Sounds great and still the emotion you have always been able to put into your music, Nice work. Fun and playful.

  • 15 people are not coordinated enough to play separate polyrhythms with their feet and hands while snapping, changing keys, adjusting stops, and maintaining tempo

  • beautiful

  • damn this amazing

  • The cockpit of a B52 bomber looks less complicated than this...

  • @fraroc Playing LOL Playing an organ is comparable to flying a helicopter, which is more complicated than flying a plane. So yeah, you are right! LOL

  • @fraroc Go look up a photo of the Atlantic City Convention Hall's pipe organ and imagine sitting at that.

  • good stuff!

  • Mind. Blown.

  • MOTHER OF MOZART Q_Q

  • @tonyrocker93 Indeed.

  • @tonyrocker93 Mother of Mozart jahjahahahahaha good joke dude!!!

  • WOW is all I can say - the footwork alone blows me away

  • who could dislike that!?! what a cool bear! anyone hating one this guy is just jealous!

  • Damn fine instrument! :)

  • Well, Besides everyone bashing religons. I Would like to say Good job Brother Elliott. I served in the family and church history mission for 10 months and I came and listened to the organs when ever I had a chance. There is just no way, to say how much I love playing and watching other organists play hymns to our father in Heaven and his son, the Savior of the world. Thank you.

  • Awesome!!! cute guy:)

  • WHY OH WHY can you NOT leave regligion out of this!! Is this not about music, musical instuments, musical performance and organist's performaces? ALL these are created by the very SAME GOD!!

  • Man Oh Day,This guy is awesome!

  • @Menechem Paul said in Acts 20, "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves (among Christians) shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." These words were written almost 2,000 years ago. The grievous wolves have already entered in among you. However, God and Jesus Christ appeared to a young man around 200 years ago and restored the Church of Jesus Christ in latter days.

  • @Menechem We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or Mormons. We believe in God the Father and Jesus Christ. We invite all men everywhere to have faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and to be baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost for the remission of sins, and to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. We believe God restored his Church in these latter-days out of apostasy or falling away from the truth. If you pray and ask God, he will tell you.

  • @Christian11133339 YOU BELIEVE IN A DISTORTED GOSPEL, I AM A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN, YOU'RE APOSTATES!

  • Comment removed

  • @CheaYounggi Actually Catholicism is an apostate from original Christianity, if you're going to comment, do so intelligently because we are not equal!

  • Comment removed

  • @CheaYounggi Have you studied church history, the split between east and west, and the birthing of the official Roman Catholic church 1400 years ago? I know what the false prophet said, furthermore, I KNOW WHAT GOD'S WORD (GENESIS-REVELATION) SAYS! ENOUGH WITH YOUR UNINTELLIGENT RHETORIC!

  • 11 people are lame! This is so awesome!

  • Wow! Excellent!

  • See Ms Bish doing the theme by Pagini for pedal solo :-)

  • TABARNAKK !!!!

  • To be able to do that, he must get all the bitches

  • That's not a crazy organ solo. Our organist in this town sometimes plays Ave Maria with pedal melodie.

  • A-men and a-men! Nice work!

  • Gospel: It's not just for Hammonds anymore!

  • Genius, pure genius, gods choir with a organist who has god given skills.

  • I LIKE WHEN HE GOES TO A FLAT

  • WOW-- this is truly amazing!! What talent!

  • I tried to play an organ with Timberland boots. All those wrong freaken notes!

  • What is this sorcery!!

  • Gonna try learning it in 3 months! Wish me luck!!!

  • They probably use people with small feet and long legs to play the organ.

  • An' all God's children SAID.....AMEN!

  • I actually know this guy he is fantastic

  • Don't try this on an electric organ - you'll destroy it. This kind of organ playing can only be performed on a real pipe organ...

  • @4mysarah ? I don't see why playing this on an electronic organ will destroy it, user stefanussen didn't...

  • @goodchappy I agree, I play this kind of stuff on electric organs all the time. My feet aren't as good as this guys though!!

  • oh my gosh that takes so much skill!! I can't even do the foot pedals.

  • you know I asked ..people within the Mormon Tabernacle choir if they wouldnt sing ..: In my Room...a song by the Beach Boys , and they refused ! Its a beautiful song! but they refused saying it wouldnt work! Huh? whats more American than the Beach Boys?

  • @hibernianish

You know, believe it or not, several years ago, I asked the SAME question, by email, to the MT Choir director.

I specifically asked him, before one of their So. Cal. events, if they would sing In My Room, since it was written by a So. Cal native, Brian Wilson, who said it was meant to be a purely spiritual song.

It truly is. Brian is considered a genius, amongst conventional musicians of today.

I guess it's still too new. Some day it will be old enough to sing. :)

  • Some day in future, there will be someone who will play the same song with their hands, feet, and nose.

  • This man is a band with himself !

  • I'd totally be falling off the organ bench. I can't do pedals & hands.

  • Best video of an organist you'll see all year!

  • Wow I could really feel the HS in this...so beautiful....well done...well done. \o/

  • He's thinkin' of sailing off to planet Kolob to make "Celestial Babies".

If that don't set a Mormon's toes to tappin' NOTHING WILL.

  • @GooglFascists planet...kolob...waa? >.<

  • This made me smile

  • Never seen before a glissando on the pedal-board O.o

  • if you are going to sell out like that, what a way to do it! Bravo

  • I wonder if anything much of this life is my Iglesias and forgive my bad English but this

  • He's got happy feet!

  • meine fresse what greaaat!!:DD

  • very cool. thats the way to play it!

  • Wow, I love the bit at 0:45. Very difficult to do and well done!

In my opinion this puts most instruments into the easy to play category.

  • He plays better with his feet than I do with my hands lol

  • That is really great! I love that jazzy version of that great Christmas classic! It reminds me of the time I did a boogie-woogie arrangement of that song on our keyboard at my church (using classic organ sound) and everyone just loved it!

    Thanks for posting!

  • holy fuck and i can't play a melody and a bass line with two hands on my electric bass... let alone throwing my feet into the mix

  • He blew me away when he did a contrary glissando on the foot pedals...

  • @analyzingfunny Lolno.

  • @analyzingfunny some ancient mayan temple... you're totally lost dude, im sure your not that ignorant, go read a little

  • @feoysabroso That is from THIER own book., Do you want me to send it to you?

  • @analyzingfunny i can't find the first comment so what is in the book?

  • @analyzingfunny no thanks, I have plenty of "their" book, I have also studied a lot of the ancient american culture, and there's so much evidence that we could say it's "probably" true... I know what i'm talking about, you? I don't think so, go read the book and also read about the Mayas, Aztecs, Olmecs, Incas, Moche, Chimu, Quiches, Mochicas... and you'll see for yourself, in a scientific way that all of the book could be possible, you can also pray and feel it for yourself, in a spiritual way

  • must have a six pack to do this...

  • I was at this concert and this solo got the loudest cheers of the night. It's incredible. I can't play as well with my hands as he can with his feet.

  • I'm going to challenge our school organist to do this... he's very good - but then our school organ has two manuals, and cathedral where he plays has four - this has FIVE!!!!

  • What a show-off. (Wish I could play like that - even the pedal part would do!!)

  • @Offshoreorganbuilder ...lol ya, I live here in Utah and have been to to Tabernacle many times the vibration that rumbles threw your body is crazy this peace must must have been close to cranking the windows lol but very good..

  • I'm quite glad the last few comments haven't escalated into anything of an argument because this video isn't about religion, it's about an awesome organ solo! I know people just want to vent their anger about religion, whatever, but this might be the wrong video to do so. I'm sure many who watched this video, like me, are not religious, but they would agree that some of the greatest music in the history of man has come from the world of theology, so let's try and keep it out of discussion hey?

  • That is some FANCY FOOTWORK!

  • The organist played the pedal so well! Who?

    It is difficult.

This organ, played by Alexander Schreiner, led to my becoming an organist.

Too bad it is all based upon a fairytale. All religions are man-made myth and laughable rituals.

  • @robertgift was there a purpose for the religion hate? like why would u randomly spew that out of ur mouth?

  • @robertgift - This organ was built by Schoenstien for the new conference center. Dr. Schreiner played the Aeolian-Skinner in the Tabernacle...

  • @Orgel56 Yes. Thank you. I firsthoughthis was the tabernacle.

  • @robertgift No Problem! They're both excellent instruments from what I'm told (One day I hope to see/hear/play them in person...)

  • Saw this in concert. I couldn't get over how awesome it was.

  • He is like to the organ what Eddie Van Halen is to the guitar.

  • @waterfordpuplets He sure is!

  • @GeneralConference yeah, the fact he can play chords with his right foot is amazing.... I play the organ some, and dream of playing the Tabernacle organ one day, but my gosh.....

  • Who sez this organ solo is crazy? I find it quite beautiful 'specially when it's played on such a magnificent organ as the one at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, UT I may disagree with the theology of the Mormon church, however, I find the Mormon Tabernacle is just beautiful, especially when they're accompanied by the magnificent organ, when sing favorites, as "Battle Hymn of the Republic"

  • @DonaldFranklin67 Crazy hard?

  • @DonaldFranklin67 Hello Don, what exactly do you disagree with regarding the Theology of the Church? If I may be so bold!

  • Legit!

  • Those are some mad organ skills.

  • Amazing pedal work! Hats off to Mr. Elliott!

  • I remember singing this song for chorus. Its a fun song to sing.

  • and women say men are not multi-taskers

  • @MrShutupandskate lol true dat

  • me cojoni,e io che pensavo che i Mormoni fossero solo quelli che prendono gli schiaffi su Trinita, tanto di piede!!

  • wow, i was blown away by this stunning performance. Can't wait for this coming christmas devotional.

  • a sporty musician :-)

  • I love it when folks rock out on a pipe organ, especially the classical variety.

  • That's not the Skinner in the Tabernacle, it's the Schoenstein in the Conference Center.

  • 0:45

  • Sweet!

  • Nice footwork

  • @jkcpops only a Skinner could pull that off....Bravo Richard!! Skinner organs rule!!

  • @steelersfanhawaii 2dawgz is right, that's not the skinner, this is in the new Conference Center, is the Schoenstein

  • Respond to this video... there is a guy named 'cameron' who has youtube vid playing the piccolo descant of Stars & Stripes for ever - with the trills - solely on pedal

  • Tha Morman got some brutha im him ! HAHA! Go on Richard.

  • Mad skills indeed, this organ is amazing to hear live in person, simply amazing.

  • haha awesome!!!

  • he's got MAD skills, not to mention he is one classy man

  • he actualy played with his feet omg

  • I can't get over this song. I have a hard time playing one set of keys, and he's playing at least five at a time. and to top it off, cords with his feet!!

  • that's so incredible

  • Did the tabernacle organ get a new facade? I can't believe they would have changed the highly recognizable case.

  • Comment removed

  • @mike928pa

The organ that he is playing is in the conference center. It has the same specs as the one in the tabernacle, but it has a different facade. The tabernacle organ is still in the old building.

  • @Piman52 Actually the specs are very different. The similarities come more in placement of controls then tonal design. The Schoenstein organ of the conference center is significantly smaller than the Tabernacle, yet contains some novel things the Tabernacle doesn't like stops that came from theater organs.

  • @praestant8 i've heard is different because the Conference Center is so big, they had to make a very powerful organ so it can be heard everywhere, that's why even if it's 2/3 size of the Skiner, this organ is as good as the other one

  • @feoysabroso Yes and no. The scales and wind pressure are a little more generous. The big difference really is the orchestral division made up partly of theater organ pipework on heavy pressure. Even with that they don't use it much. The real important part is in the principal/diapason choruses. You can only have so much of that before you have redundancy. After all is said and done I don't think the organ would work with out the integrated amplification system. Yes, its miked!

  • @praestant8 whatever u say, i dont know much about organs, i only saw an interview with Richard Elliot, in the conference center u can see the mics coming from the ceiling, you can read more about the pipe organ in the mormon tabernacle choir website

  • @feoysabroso As a professional organ builder I know all about the organs on temple square, including the not so famous ones and the practice organs in the basement.

  • @praestant8 a friends told me they bring an organ on their tours, is it true? how big is it? im in montreal but theyre coming to toronto in december, hope i can see them

  • @feoysabroso When possible they try to use an organ that is available in the venue. Otherwise they do have a digital organ, I think a 3 manual Rodgers, of decent size they travel with.

  • @mike928pa This is the organ in the Conference Hall across the street from the Tabernacle...Glad you like the music from Temple Square like I do!

  • @mike928pa Thats the new Schoenstein

  • Play chords.

    WITH FEET.
