Yeah normal MSRP is around $8k-$9k, but I hear of people seeing them now and then at gunshows or shops for $3k-$5.

They don't sell that well because of the cost. Not only ammunition, but you chew up barrels fast. All you get are a couple thousand rounds before they need to be replaced.

If someone else wants to flip the bill, I'll take it. But if I'm paying... I think I'll stick to 7.62x51 and below.

Besides, you aren't doing to really destroy data on a computer by shooting it. 1) You'd have to be lucky enough to hit the HDD itself. 2) even if you did, you can do amazing things to recover data these days. Drives burned in fires, smashed, exposed to magnetic fields... you can usually recover something from it.

If 50BMG can take down aircraft then yea it can differently penetrate modern day armor. With the right tip, it can penetrate a metal plate as thick as 1in. even if you're wearing a 2in thick plate and get shot by a 50BMG, it still kill you by all that force. You'll get enternal organ damage.
