why? because she's against using tax payer's money to fund faked religious moments, geared at converting people and putting one religion above others?

That's the problem though. So many people are afraid of death that they don't even want it for murderers - even though ALL humans will eventually die. That life in prison solution is more of a problem. It inspires them to release murderers. The death penalty on the other hand, is an effective solution. this case proves it. Besides, the ring leader died in prison...probably with a doctor by his side. 25 years or so too late, if you ask me.
They caught the murderers, yes. They weren't religious terrorists, they were career criminals who got let out on parole. One of them was on parole for murder, so chalk this up as a good example of the value of the death penalty. They weren't Atheists, but they were very angry at a few Atheists, that's for sure.
abigailjazz---Well so did Tammy Faye Bakker. Many Christians did, in fact, didn't Jesus have a tragic end? What did he do wrong to deserve it? I mean besides not defending himself at all...No gods exist to be mocked. It is the god-promoter who is really insulted by our insistence on reality. To them I say tough!
I have no doubt that if we ever made contact with other lifeforms, and religion is still around, they would try to convert them. (and likely doom us all in the process)
Is if there were a god, and the god sent saviors to both planets to save all the life forms. The christians get converted to their religion, they get converted to christians..
Then they all end up in hell because they worshiped the wrong assigned saviour :)
There will be a total of 6 parts, I understand. Can you believe that Hollywood hasn't made a movie about Madalyn's life yet? From this video series, we can see how she was deep, not one dimensional, so there's plenty of complexity to her character. It should be along the lines of The People Vs. Larry Flynt. (They were friends, afterall.) They weren't "heros," but they also weren't evil. And Larry's all smiles now. :o)
