  • Thank you so much for posting its really cool to see vintage disneyland like that!

  • I really like your video. Those were the good ol days before they got too commercial and took out the best rides like the submarine, people mover, and skyway. The people mover wasn't a thrill ride but was long and you could relax and see some amazing views of the park. They should bring it back!

  • Just ran across your video and love it so much! Thank you for sharing! My first visit was around 74 or 75 and it really captures that experience! Love the music as well...I think I would like it to be my theme song!

  • the good old days....no mexicans all over the place...

  • ahh, the good ol days when you would actually park and run to the front entrance//.. haha

  • more like the adventures of mikey at disneyland.

  • Thanks WEBmikey, I'm pretty impressed with this video and the picture quality and the music you used being born in the mid to late 70s brings back some fond memories and i did enjoy thank you

  • Where's the shrinking thing?

  • thanks mike. I was born in 1961 in san diego so

that is the park I remember. Great music too!

  • I loved this! Thank you for posting!

  • Outstanding home movies...thank you so much for sharing!!! I really miss old Tomorrowland. The Peoplemover was always my favorite ride!

  • Fantastic job Mikey, thanks for posting this. Those were the glory days of Disneyland.

  • It looked like that in the early 90s too!

  • I was 5 years old when this was taken. It brought back some wonderful memories.

    Thank you.

  • I was there in '72 and remember all this.

  • Kind of weird how old the PeopleMover is and how it seems like an extremely long gone ride at Disneyland, yet it lasted all the way to 1995, not long ago.

  • wow, i went to disneyland a year ago but look at ow much it's changed, that blows my mind!!

  • Wow! It's so amazing watching this and seeing how much Disneyland has changed, yet how much of it remains the same. The history it holds is incredible. Thanks for sharing. ^_^

  • Great memories Mikey ! Thanks for posting !

  • This was really cool.

Ive only been to Walt Disney World ('04 &'08) , but it would be cool if Disneyland kept the originall ride and the Parking lot. But California Adventure is cool im sure.

  • This is so great. I'm rifling through my own Disneyland home videos now, and I've got one from '91. Not nearly as old as your's but there are still rides that no longer are open, like the Skyway, Peoplemover, and the Motorboats. This is such a trip down memory lane.

  • That was awesome! Thank you. I love disneyland and seeing what it use to look like and what it is now made my mouth drop.

  • thank you for that view, brings me back to when my family went there, what was that great music you were playing in the back ground, perfect for the movie.

  • Notice there are hardly any fat people and only one wheelchair, and the lack of crowds.

  • your mom's hair is rockin!

    thanks for sharing.

  • Personally I think disneyland looked better back then than now, from looking at this video. I love disneyland, but it feels so cluttered now haha.

  • I agree. I think I prefer the old castle over the new one. The new one just seems so small for some reason. Probably one of the few failed visual effects by Disney.

  • The castle is the original. They have not changed the size. The reason it seems smaller is because you've grown!

  • Yeah, I remember having been to DL as a kid and then later living on the East coast - so of course got used to WDW and the behemoth castle there. Anyway, when I moved to CA and my hubby and I took our little girls for the first time to DL, I saw the castle, small and old looking (no refurb yet) and I cried because it was so beautiful. It was just like I left it as a child. It was like going home.

  • Thanks again to everyone! The music is the original Monorail Song, available on the Musical History of Disneyland box set.

  • Great!

    What music is this?

  • thats was great, thankyou for sharing history with me

  • Man that was a trip to see all that, I was born in '68 and I kinda remember seeing that stuff growing up. I was very lucky to have parents take me almost every year. I miss those Skyway rides a lot. Thanks for posting

    Beast

  • I got more enjoyment from your film than I have from any Disney film since the 70's. Thanks, great home movies.

  • Awesome! I remember the 80's Disneyland which was somewhat like this but not as cool and retro. This had to be filmed around or after 1969 because the Haunted Mansion is open. Don't feel bad about being too scared to go on it, my dad had to drag me in the first time and now it's my favorite ride! LoL @ your dad checking that lady out! I hope your family gave him a lot of crap about that. =^D BUSTED! Please post more if you have them, cheers!

  • I love it!....Disneyland ROCKS!

  • I went to Disneyland every summer growing up and I literally had trouble sleeping for weeks beforehand because of my excitment. The time period of your video were my prime Disneyland years. Thanks, folks!

  • This is so cool. I wish they still had all of the rides that filtered throughout time. Tommrowland just isnt the same.

  • Wow, this almost made my cry, seeing how beautiful disneyland was back then and how it brought families closer together.

    wonderful job i say

    5/5 all the way

  • thanks for this, its really cool for me to see stuff that i never got to see before!

  • Man, I sure miss the Peoplemover, and the Motorboats were too cool. Gotta love the way we dressed in the 60s. ha ha. Thanks for the great memories.

  • I thought the Golden Days of Disneyland were gone forever, but they live and breathe on this video! Thank you, Mikey! By the way, what's the great music I hear on this video? Is it a George Bruns composition? Real Disneylandy!

  • E Ticket baby!! thank you for that!

  • Great footage ! Thanks for the treat !

  • Wonderful! What sweet memories. Remember E-tickets and A-tickets. We'd save them up for the next trip. We'd loose our homework but not our tickets.

  • Wonderful job editing those movies together. Family was what a Disney park was about in those days wasn't it, even Uncle Glenn...LOL

  • good ol' uncle glenn! ;)

  • Were the MERMAIDS in the Lagoon at this time??

  • good times good times ...

  • Excellent footage!! Hats off to the camera person!! Thanks for the post.

  • That's Awesome!! Yes thanks for sharing this video! How do you get your Home Movie on the YouTube? I like to do that myself :)

  • Thanks for sharing this video! It brings back great memoires from when I was little and went to Disneyland!!!

In the 60's and 70's you could wander around without out the huge crowds like today :)

  • tomorrowland... my favorite land ;)!

  • Awesome, Awesome, Awesome...I got choked up...thats why we all love disneyland-thanks for sharing

  • Nice video of Disneyland before my first time there. It's so nostalgic, especially with the music. And I liked the Tomorrowland of that era, too.

  • that is amazing!

  • Thank you for sharing, I am fortunate enough to have many fond memories shared with my family over the years as well at Disnyeland. Amazing video. I enjoyed it very much.

  • i love the video that you provided, i think that it's fun to share in someone's home movies ;)

  • old school disney will always be the best

  • wow i love history and this video is full of history. Thanks a lot.

  • that is awesome!

  • The music is called, "The Monorail Song" and is available on Disneyland Theme Park Soundtracks.

  • WONDERFUL! Can't wait to go to Disneyland next year, it was indeed the happiest place on earth :)

  • Back in the days when Disneyland wasn't crowded constantly.

  • Totally awesome! Thank you. And, yes, Tomorrowland as it was meant to be is right!

  • This is so awesome! If only I had a time machine. Your mom's hair is rad.

  • I can watch this video over and over again and never get tired of it. Thanks Webmikey!

  • Thank you soo much for sharing this Mikey, my parents always always talk about how Disneyland use to be, and thanks to you I can see it, and it's just exactly how they have described!! (we are Disney maniacs as well heh :)

  • You were adorable as a child. Thanks so much for sharing. Amazing clips.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this! Too bad I never got to Disneyland when I was young...

  • You really brought back the memories for me. THANKS!

  • Was that the "Big W" I see at 1:26 from "It`s a mad mad mad mad mad mad world"?

  • Disneyland was better in the old days and The rides aren't as good anymore,, I wish they would leave the original stuff alone.

  • Are they gonna do anything where the old rocket rod use to be.

  • their talking about bringing back "people mover" but in the future....

  • i wish i was alive back then........

  • cool motor boats i didn't know Disneyland used to have motor boats!

  • DISNEYLAND IS NOW JUST IN IT FOR THE MONEY I HATE TO SAY IT BUT ITS TRUE...im a cast member

  • u r so rite,satanic..im also a cm...

  • This is by far the best home movie put together.

    Thanks Webmikey!

  • That video brought back so many great memories. That is the way I remember Disneyland when I was a kid so many great times with sisters and cousins, ah to be young again.

  • THAT IS AWESOME!!! sometimes i wish i could go back in time to see walt disney, but his imagination still grows!!

  • ahh yes back when walt ruled the world of imagination, if only I was around at that time :)

  • That was incredible! Being raised with Disneyland in my blood I believe it is important for people to learn about the "traditional" Disneyland. It's always good to know where it all began and how it has evolved. I'm sure Disney is smiling knowing there are people out there like you who share your experiences and introduce or remind the rest of us where it's all been, it makes it that much more wonderful to see where we're going!

  • About the Inter Space ride, Star Tour was put into Place. The Inter Space ride scared me every time, by the time I started to understand things it was replace by my favorite Star Tour, but I wish I could of ride it now. Oh well things change for a reason.

  • I would give anything to be a kid back then. It looks like it was such a wonderful time to be part of the Disneyland crazy. I wasnt even on my way to being born then but I get a little teary-eyed anyway

  • That's how I remember Disneyland! Man, the good old days!

  • WONDERFUL!!! Can't wait to go to Disneyland!!! Check out my channel for all things Disney!!!!

  • Do you have anymore of these? If you do, please post more. Thanks. Great video.

  • well that was hardcore!

    i love disneyland!

  • Wow! What a great video! It is amazing how similar it still looks today!

  • The submarine voyage was called 20,000 leages under the sea

  • Thank you so much for such an enjoyable video. It brought back so many wonderful memories. I love Uncle Glenn. I have a Grandpa Glenn who is so dear to me.

  • Although it's not my family....the glasses, hair, outfits, etc. take me back to such a great time in my life....THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Count your blessings children and grand children. I miss my grandparents so much. I never got to go to the Happiest Place on Earth with them. This video brings me back to a great time. I LOVE IT!!!

    May God bless you!!

  • bring back main street electrical parade

  • Me gonna cry of happy !! its amazing nostalgic and fantastic

  • when i was a kid back in the 70`s my parents tried to take me to the Haunted Mansion and i was so scared i made a scene. The next time we went back i went and it became 1 of my fave rides.

  • Thank's for the video'. I love seeing old disneyland and Magic Mountain.

Why did Disneyland get rid of People Mover? it was a good ride I miss that one:(

  • That was fantastic! Thanks for posting this for us all to enjoy. *sigh* I love Disneyland!!!

  • Good Lord! That was wonderful! Great photography and wonderful editing. This really took me back to my visits to disneyland as a child. I loved seeing all the retro stuff again like the 1959 monorail and the old hotels across the street from the park.

  • Great Video! I loved how you edited your video it look cool i like the old style look :) **Oh check out my Disney Video i Edited :) **************

  • Superb! Though I'm older (from the looks of it, by about seven years or so), I grew up loving Disneyland, too... Caught the 'mania' at the same age you did. :-) Thanks so much for sharing your family's memories!

  • wow... thanks for that... now that's the Disneyland I grew up with and that I remember fondly, not today's Disneyland

  • Amazing!

  • Looks like you had some great times at Disney World. I like that you added music. Most people don't add sound to their silent movies and it's harder to watch. You had me curious through the whole adventure.

  • Fantasmic! Better than my foggy ol' memory could imagine. It's changed so much since then & it's great to get to time travel like that. Great Submarine footage! :)

  • Was this shot on 8 or 16mm.But you recorded the video of a projector screen

  • How awesome! And with the monorail music, wish I could of seen it back then(born in 93)

  • Thanks again for the comments! The music is the original Monorail theme, which is on the Musical History of Disneyland CD set.

  • i wish they wouldd bring back the peoplemover i rode it in WDW (walt disney world) and its a great way just to relax

  • I love your video, I am still hoping that by a miracle they will bring back the Peoplemover!

  • Have you seen my peoplemovervideo yet ? If no check it out its called "Peoplemover Ride Disneyland California Anaheim" on Hbvideos

  • Good memories..

  • Wow. Funny thing is that I remember all those things... and I was born in '84.

    This video was really touching!

  • This is cool! Very nice to see what it was like 10-11 years before I was born.

  • Amazing video...espesially the submarine voyage. It was my favorite ride. :]

  • Wow that was a really awesome classic video. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • Did they have Pirates of the Carribean then, I forgot

  • Yes... Pirates of the Caribbean opened on March 18, 1966 (my 8th birthday :-) Haunted Mansion opened in the summer of 1969 (that's how you can tell that Pirates was already open).

  • Stopped in for another look at Mikey's wonderful video... :-) And I made a boo-boo on my previous response re: Pirates of the Caribbean - It was March 18, 1967 - my 9th birthday. (How could I mess THAT up?? *LOL*)

  • Thanks again for the comments, everyone. The music is the original Monorail theme, which is on the Musical History of Disneyland CD set. Everyone should check it out!

  • Mikey gets into another family's photo! Haha! Thanks Mikey, I loved it! Where did you find the music?

  • thank you so much for the footage of the submarine voyage! i was only about 7 or 8 the last time i rode it, so i barely remember it. that footage brought back many fond memories.

  • that was great miss those rides on the skytram thru the mountain i remember one ride back then in tomarrow land where people would come out on end of ride shrunk down in size scared me to death thinking i was going to be that small

  • That was Adventures thru Innerspace. I loved that ride as well...never should've gotten rid of it.

  • i heard they got rid of it to make room for the Michael Jackson 3D movie Captain EO.

  • Innerspace was replaced with Star Tours in 1987.

  • Why can't we go back in time? Why does the past always seem much simpler and happier?

    Great video btw...

  • I love that you got in another family's photo! My uncle once turned around and began talking to an asian couple in the Swiss Family Treehouse thinking it was us!

  • *sigh* Just... *sigh*

  • Yes, you used Buddy Baker's classic Monorail theme. Wow, I love that music so much.

  • This video is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious great! I love seeing vintage Disneyland on Super 8. Thank you for sharing this film!

  • Great job Mikey! This takes me back to my childhood, and confirms to me that Disneyland has always been crowded!

  • mikey and mickey=)

  • Once again, thanks SO much for all the great comments everyone! I'm thrilled that people have enjoyed this video so much.

  • That was amazing, I love Disneyland and I've always wished I could see it in that day. My mom always tried to explain the submarine ride to me, so glad I finally got to see it! Great work.

  • Great editing job and thanks tons for sharing

  • Thanks for sharing your memories!

  • Back in the day! Love the backdrop music, too - I keep lookin' for Gidget or June Cleaver or something - see how the kids are NOT trying to harass Mickey and the characters as many of our younger "yo's" are tryin' these days! PS -- 20,000 leagues ride ruled!! Thanks for that!

  • one of the best nostalgic videos that relives "fond memories of the past"!

this video makes my heart SING! thank you

  • omg, I'm gonna cry, that was great!

  • Look at the clothing... Everyone is dressed up! I wish I could have been there at that time... Going to Disneyland at that time was something very special.

  • Thanks for the comments, everyone! That music is the original Monorail theme, which is on the Musical History of Disneyland CD set. Glad you enjoyed the subtitles, TicToc!

  • This is one of the best documented home videos ever!!!!

  • Neat! Is that piece of music the monorail theme loop? Where did you find it?

  • Great Video!!!
