Sad. The once great creations of the human imagination are now just a memory hoping that before they pass that point of no return they can be resurrected to a former glory. However, once past a certain point it becomes a lost cause. I guess everything has its time. Beautiful music.
Any of those Lamborghinis filmed at the dumping ground for old test cars at the Lamborghini factory? Hard to believe there are abandoned Muiras sitting somewhere.
This is what happens when rednecks blow their life savings to buy one of these cars with high hopes of restoring them "one day" but lack the resources to actually rebuild them and so they sit under a grove of trees behind their trailer house to rot away some more until they get traded off to another redneck for a fishing boat.
Oh come on. Most are in junk yards. They're worth more in parts. It would be too costly to restore almost all of these, and that's why they're abandoned, you Honda Civic owners.
Great video. It's hard for us 'poor' people who would put value and enjoyment in a material thing. The rich are so rich, that material things (people included), are not concidered in importance, are expendable. Most would enjoy the feel of driving or working on what is concidered a work of art. Yeah, it's pretty hard to watch.
Is it sad I can watch the hungry african kid commercials on TV and not care but I saw this and less than 2 minutes into it I was tearing up...... Does that make me fucked up?
What posseses the owners to neglect such beautiful works of art???? these cars are rolling artwork!! when cars were cars!! and everything was designed on a drafting board!! and your imagination was allowed to run free, and companies took risks and build beautiful Automobiles like these!! if i ever found sombody neglecting thier cars, and its a classic?? they are getting castrated!! this is insulting beyond all belieif to see these just rusting away like this.
I wish I could restore my 89 Acura Legend, I just don't have the money and time...perhaps some millionaire here would be generous enough to hand me over their pocket change...precisely 20 thousand dollars.
My grandfather owned a 1956 merc ponton. I didn't have time to restore it, but i had the decency to give it away to a guy who did. I did not ask for any money even though it was able to start and move. Now it is restored and i feel good about it.
For god'sa sake, THOSE are piece of our history for fucks sake !!!Who in the right mind would left to rot something like aston martin or early buggati?! not to mention old Ford GT !!! They should have nver get hands on them, they DONT DESERVE those cars !!!
each picture tore my hear apart bit by bit.it makes me sad and mad on those people wo left those cars to wanish that way.
This is what happens if you don't love your car and you don't know how valuable they can be, and if you have one like that....that's just...they simply trow the away...c'mon, for one reason, you can sell it and get rich from a simple sale out.
None of these things are "abandoned" - they're owned by crackpots who claim "I'm gonna fix it up someday" - people who have the same amount of intelligence as many of the ones commenting here.
@fireman53406 So sad....these cars deserve better. I'd much rather sell for less than what a car COULD be worth if I knew someone was going to restore it properly. I.E. The old Bugatti at 1:01, If restored it would be worth a fortune, but it would also cost a fortune to restore. If the owner doesn't have the means and $ to restore it properly, at least they should sell it to someone who CAN before it's too late! This video is great, but it just makes me sad and angry at the same time.
The only problem being - you are assuming that the owners of these things are SANE. I've knocked on many doors and talked to more than a few raving lunatics who are watching some fine old piece of iron slowly sink into the ground. If they had any brains, they would've put them in dry storage - or had them hauled off to the junkyard, like any "normal" person would, a long time ago. So when you see stuff like this, it's almost guaranteed that you are dealing with a nut job!
Sad, but what's worse is that many of those cars are too far gone to make restoration possible or at least practical. Why spend $70,000 restoring a $50,000 car? Now, the few cars in the video that would be worth north of $200,000 may warrant a $125,000 restoration. That gull wing Mercedes would be a good starting point!
Omg about threw up so many buetiful cars I found a old gt 40 in a junk yard at least it looks like a gt 40 what's left of it I tried buying it but I geuss they want to whatch it rot to nothing :(
1:02 Saw that same Bugatti on "Chasing Classic Cars" show today. It used to belong to the guy that owned Macy's Dept. Store in NYC. It sat in that garage from 1962 until like 2007. Sold at auction for around $775K. The new owner got it back running and cleaned it up without doing a full restore on it.
You can buy a delorean new from a company in So. Cal. They start at $40k and have all original parts. But deloreans suck. The Caddys are where it's at.
@Adamz946 A good majority of these cars are beyond restoration. That's what these old fucking morons with farms don't understand. They hold on to these cars, claiming they are going to fix them up, they never do, and they sit and rot to the point they can not be fixed.
BTW, 0:45 looked more like a 1970's Maserati. Either a Merak or a Bora. I couldn't tell from all that stuff hiding the rest of the car. I bet you probably could get a car like what is shown in the vid for £10,000. Sounds bloody tempting too.
great video... one small issue. The Alfa Romeos weren't actually abandoned or neglected. They're all drivers. That's just what happens to them naturally. These ones must have been relatively cared for, as the rest just don't exist anymore. Ahhh rust. Wonder if we'll be looking at Chinese cars in 50 years with nostalgia. I think not.
I've seen cars like this, abandoned in a backyards, garages, storages. I know where there is a 69 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler A Trim, the owner has it with lots of junk and chicken cages on top of it ,in a overgrown backyard. This guy wont sell it. I saw a 60's (right hand drive) MiniCooper with a pile of junk on top ,in the back of body shop. I know where there is a 86 BMW M5 ,rusting away in a parking lot waiting for its owner to get out of jail. Why?? Why? Why? Why? this is sad , very sad.
the sad part of this video is most of theses car could be restored/fixed up and sold for more then wat it cost to restore or fix them. not to mention there a part of history

@excalebuir 100% agreed. The music was so good and the cars so great. I was bored and tired today so I sat home most of the day online, and I must say I feel old watching this vid and enjoying it and the classical like I did. More so than any other video on here.

@excalebuir 100% agreed. The music was so good and the cars so great. I was bored and tired today so I sat home most of the day online, and I must say I feel old watching this vid and enjoying it and the classical like I did. More so than any other video on here.
