Don't you get the urge to smash this machine with a sledge hammer ? I suppose art affects people with different reactions, but this is the feeling I get off this piece.
I think I would enjoy smashing the crap out of this music machine with a heavy axe while it was playing. It would be cool to see the bits fly everywhere and also see how long the music lasted.
at least, not for this moment, but it has got a tendency to get mixed up, sometimes. However, when I do play, I use digital drums, so you can call this a salute to the unnatural acts of instrumental process .
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on at least 10 other videos in the next hour, if you do tomorow will be the best day of your life.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on at least 10 other videos in the next hour, if you do tomorow will be the best day of your life.
the reason i thought of those title sequences was because they looked similar in style to some of the effects you achieve here with out of focus light. and they had such amazing wee jingles
man i loved this so much and also malusi, bassekou kouyate in london (amazing), and all the earthen parts. maybe you can help me? im obsessed with the title sequences before films in odeon cinemas. theres a new batch now that they show, but for about 5 years maybe there were these amazing title sequences. do you know anything about them??? its a very long shot i know that, but maybe you remember them?!
PLEASE DONT READ THIS. YOU WILL GET KISSED ON THE NEAREST POSSIBLE FRIDAY BY LOVE OF YOUR LIFE. TOMORROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE HOWEVER IF YOU DONT POST THIS COMMENT TO AT LEAST 3 VIDEOS YOU WILL DIE WITHIN 2 DAYS. NOW UV STARTED READIN DIS DUNT STOP THIS IS SO SCARY. SEND THIS OVER TO 5 VIDEOS IN 143 MINUTES WHEN UR DONE PRESS F6 AND UR CRUSHES NAME WILL APPEAR ON THE SCREEN IN BIG LETTERS. THIS IS SO SCARY BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY WORKs
Whats occuring at 0:40 to 0:43? Is it the arcing that is the desired sound, or is it a mechnical sound that similar, like a pice of wire being dragged over a finely pitched washboard type effect. I can't quite work out how that sound is being produced.
looking at what's making the noise, i don't think it's electricity arcing. it seems to be made by a motor spinning a cog against something and the teeth of the cog are causing it to make the sound. if you look closely you can see it spin then stop when the sound is made.
i can see why it could be confused with electricity arcing, it sounds very much like it and the colour of the light flashed is blue/white too, but i think that's just another LED.
I have smashed stuff up similar to this. before Christmas we smashed up a piano that had been in our house for a few years. It was working OK but I cant play it and we needed the space. I completely splintered it and burnt it in a couple of hours. My father in law was a bit pissed when he saw the empty space and said he's take it and then I told him I'd smashed the shit out of it. You should have seen his face; not happy.
I have smashed stuff up similar to this. before Christmas we smashed up a piano that had been in our house for a few years. It was working OK but I cant play it and we needed the space so I trashed it in the garden with an axe and we burnt the pieces.
the machine, impressive,i like how the vid showed all sort of angles while the music played..but it gota sorta draggy..it lacked the video playing honestly..maybe if you show the other half like how the machine was made and programmed..that would have pulled off..
btw guys, want to share with you about this new blog that shows only the best youtube videos, reviewed, scripted and discussed!
people don't share the same taste when it comes to music, I learned that a looong time ago. How about you wake up a little and realize that too. I can put my comment and critizise every friggin' genre, if I want to.
Sooo, I'm guessing you also hate "rave" music, and anything with synth. First off, just cause YOU PERSONALLY don't like something doesn't mean you can say "..Another excuse for musical LAZINESS." Second, music is something that is only good to the creator, the fact that people enjoy music is purely taste, therefore all music is good music. Third, if you can build a machine that dose a better job, go ahead and do so. Forth, when you get angry at this post, go listen to your rap.
Would it not be easier for Mr. Felix Thorn, to utilize a midi computer with modules, program it, and let it play by itself, just as todays modern music is created and recorded today?

the electromechanical pulse was first viewed from the inside of a piano. Notice the almost coppernized shades of the reflecting atmosphere almost camouflaging while hitting the steel-cans.
