As far as i am concerned Laura Lee is and always will be the highest personification of the classic soul singer. Simply the best. The equal of Otis in every respect. Her phrasing and emotion, dynamic virtuosity and that all important ever so little bit of a flaw, combine to almost achieve complete perfection. And this performance The first I ever heard still causes the goose bumps. Superb. Blessed be!
@anz10 I guess you missed the annoncement when they released it 7 years ago. :) There's no sense at all in covering bad songs, is there? Might as well sing the ones you love.
OMG,,,,reminds me of John R on WLAC out of Nashville, TN ---1610 on your AM radio back in the day....hahaha ---Thanks for the post and the memories!!! :-))

What a fantastic song. I get shivers when she starts singing - nothing beats that soulful sound.
