@GoHabsGo0708 The 9500 is WAY better than the iMac G3 in my opinion, I know the G3 has a faster processor, but try putting 1.5GB of ram in a G3 iMac...
Steve Jobs is a BIG part of Pixar, who made Wall-E. The Powermac 9600 was his favorite sound, so that's why Wall-E's cell bongs when it's finished charging. As long as Apple is under Steve Jobs, we probably won't see another bong for a while. :)
I'm getting kinda bored with the current start-up sound. When I saw my first Mac I thought it was very welcoming compared to Windows XP, but now it's just like, normal.
Wow 6100 FTW...that is going to be my PC startup sound LOL! Way to go Apple using a guitar with a minAdd9 chord and bass, it so fits 1994 too, a very progressive year for a lot of things, much like 1987.
Unfortunately the picture you show with the Power Macintosh 6100 is actually not a Power Macintosh 6100. It's a member of the 7200/7300/7500/7600 line, or an early G3.

The sounds are ok, but I like windows better. I mean DUUUN is a bit dull don't you think? I mean sure it can carry memories with one little sound but.. Windows can carry many more.
Good luck on a TAM. Only 12,000 were made. They can't run OSX, but if you want one for the nostalgia factor, it will likely set you back around $4k or so if you're lucky enough to find one on ebay. You'd be better off going after the G4 Cube if you want something for a collector's piece. At least it can be upgraded enough to run Leopard and most other modern apps. Then you could appreciate it for the collector's value and get some use out of it before it is completely obsolete.
I just plugged my computer into my home stereo, put my four houndred watts amp on the loudest it will go without damaging my $6.000 speakers, and played this video. Five times.
The beefy start sound of the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh is my favourite. It sounds even better in real life on the TAM, I am the lucky owner of one of them.
It's bizarre... I just dusted off some of my old macs to see if they were still working, and found the same song at the beginning of this video on one of them . At first I thought it was the work of my neighbor, since he gave me the computer back in 2000 and was seriously into the computer scene of the 90's. The computer is a macintosh xv 2, with a CD caddy drive. Just curious about the origin of that strange tune...
at my middle school for 6th and 7th grade we use PC's with windows 2000 and for 8th grade they use iMac Power PC G3 and the teachers use computers with windows Vista it's confusing
@GangstaHedgehog Yep, don't know if it's kind of a 'deja-vu', but i think it is a nicely stylish one (just like the stylish look which Apple always' seeking for its products......the Jobs'-era ones, markedly)....Sort of subliminal message? (hehe, look at me, i'm Apple).....
