  • it's F#!!!

  • So we had our current macintosh sound way back in 1993 way before Mac OS X was even invented? Wow. Amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • doesnt wall-e make this same sound when hes charged up?

  • what a duck song,please send to jakub.vozar@seznam.cz

  • LOL at the 0:00

    Quack! Eep! Quack! Eep!

    Sosumi! Sosumi! Sosumi!

  • @GoHabsGo0708 The 9500 is WAY better than the iMac G3 in my opinion, I know the G3 has a faster processor, but try putting 1.5GB of ram in a G3 iMac...

  • I wish we can change our startup sounds on our MacBooks today.

  • Mac Quadra AV sounds the best.

  • @thedarkone2134 it's also the best mac TO THIS DATE!!!

  • I have a PowerMac 5500! My elementary school gave it to me when I was a kid, in 3rd grade!!!

  • that's not what a bong is hahah

  • when i think of macintosh the one on 0:12 is what comes to mind

  • what is that song

  • Steve Jobs is a BIG part of Pixar, who made Wall-E. The Powermac 9600 was his favorite sound, so that's why Wall-E's cell bongs when it's finished charging. As long as Apple is under Steve Jobs, we probably won't see another bong for a while. :)

  • i heared all of those sounds since i was 1

  • a video about mac but created on windows

  • @iamgodgvn

That's an ironical fate, isn't it? ;) But don't worry, I also own several Macs.

  • Macintosh Quadra 1991, and Power Mac 9600 1997 are the best sounds.

  • I'm getting kinda bored with the current start-up sound. When I saw my first Mac I thought it was very welcoming compared to Windows XP, but now it's just like, normal.

  • 0:22 Lol.. Can it make coffee too?

  • quack epp quack epp hoo hoo hoo quack epp quack epp bip blip blip siewm

  • 0:12 and 0:19 bring back some good memories. I think I remember 0:26, too, but it sounds deathly to be a startup sound.

  • Wow 6100 FTW...that is going to be my PC startup sound LOL! Way to go Apple using a guitar with a minAdd9 chord and bass, it so fits 1994 too, a very progressive year for a lot of things, much like 1987.

  • les sons sont argéables !

  • The Twentieth Century Mac was my favorite.

    Great video!

  • The 20th Anniversary Mac was a piece of garbage

  • @JesusManson323 LOL!

  • you forgot power mac 550

  • Macs are deadly

  • The 6100 sound is by far the best one of the bunch.

  • ong i think i used both a power mac 6100 and power mac 5200 in grade school!

  • There is a guy selling a Macintosh 20th anniversary computer on eBay.

  • its weird to imagine macintosh as a beige box now apple is so trendy and hip, but there it is., i dont mind it,

i hope they come out with some colour this decade, and perhaps the rainbow logo for nostalgia

  • macintosh doesnt support barely anything, thats why they suck

  • um the only thing that macs dont support is games. most applications support macs. and more are joining in.

  • i know but whats weird is that iphones and ipod touches support some games

  • @greenma201 parallels

  • I think that they should use the power mac 6100 on the rest of the macs because that sound is awsome through bass headphones trust me!!!

  • Macintosh Quadra is the best!

  • I have a blueberry I book, but did you see the 20th anniversary one from 1997.I would kill for that!

  • The song at the beginning is called MacFunkee, but I cannot remember the author.

  • whats the song at the begining of the video

  • new order- blue monday

  • I like the 1991 sound and also the '93 sound.

  • i think my favorite is from the powermac 5200

  • the 9500 and the sound we have now is just like the calling to heaven

  • Unfortunately the picture you show with the Power Macintosh 6100 is actually not a Power Macintosh 6100. It's a member of the 7200/7300/7500/7600 line, or an early G3.

  • 1993 is my favourite :D

  • got the 1984 and the 1994

  • any 1 got downloads 4 the macintosh Quadra AV, Power Mac 9500, and Power mac 9600

    -Gummy

P.S: The names are quite different and does Steve Jobs really like the Power Mac 9600 sound??

  • make it play pantera

  • hm i wanna buy a TAM cool startup and whats that song in the beginning where could i get it?

  • Good luck on a TAM. Only 12,000 were made. They can't run OSX, but if you want one for the nostalgia factor, it will likely set you back around $4k or so if you're lucky enough to find one on ebay. You'd be better off going after the G4 Cube if you want something for a collector's piece. At least it can be upgraded enough to run Leopard and most other modern apps. Then you could appreciate it for the collector's value and get some use out of it before it is completely obsolete.

  • reply to dan23osu. hm well lthe tams where 1k so i decided to buy a imacg3 for 35$! im so excited and it has os 9.2.2!

  • Is a remix of the Mac OS 9.2 sounds: quack, eep, error, drip

  • reply to winvistauser2. lol i know that i wanna know where to get it.

  • sweet i had a macintosh II

  • Whoa that 20th Anniversary Macintosh is something!!!

  • XDDDDDD

    That changed so much!!!

    XDDDD

  • I always kind of liked the start-up noise and the various ones the older ones made.

I found the tune at the beginning of this vid kind of neat, and I always thought the bong was the same throughout.

  • I wish they changed the startup sounds with the switch to Intel processors.

  • I liked the Twentieth Anniversary Mac, it looked very modern than the next.

  • @Syahin001 It was supposed to look futuristic, because it was special, and was about to move into the 21st century.

  • I shall forever associate Blue Monday with The History Boys. Love that film.

  • I just plugged my computer into my home stereo, put my four houndred watts amp on the loudest it will go without damaging my $6.000 speakers, and played this video. Five times.

  • That's what I call a WIN.

  • love this video. thanx

  • What song is that in the intro?

  • blue Monday by new order, thats a weird remix though obviously

  • i like that startup sound too!

  • the power mac 9600 sounds like wall-e

  • That's because it is the same sound.

  • The Quadra AV is the best :D

  • nice but the intro was r-tarded

  • The intro was from a buried file on a CD released from Apple back in the days called "MacAdvocate II" in 1997

  • Nice sounds.

Apple is great, i have 4 dual G5 machine's at my work at this moment to erase the harddisks.

  • beauritiful

  • Got a performa 6200 cd! (1995 sound!)

  • macintosh quadra av sounds the best.

  • I wish Mac OS X (10!) had all the old system alert sounds besides Sosumi (so-SUE-me!)

  • I think the power mac 5200 sounds the best. :D

  • yes, violins give it a great sound

  • BEST EVER!!!

  • i want this sound

  • Comment removed

  • The beefy start sound of the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh is my favourite. It sounds even better in real life on the TAM, I am the lucky owner of one of them.

  • New Order - Blue Monday with Mac sounds. lol

  • i know

  • It's bizarre... I just dusted off some of my old macs to see if they were still working, and found the same song at the beginning of this video on one of them . At first I thought it was the work of my neighbor, since he gave me the computer back in 2000 and was seriously into the computer scene of the 90's. The computer is a macintosh xv 2, with a CD caddy drive. Just curious about the origin of that strange tune...

  • Hey, that's funny, on a Mac II? Perhaps the song is older than I thought... I found it on an old server hosting Apple stuff. Seems to be down now...

  • Could one of you post the whole thing?

  • grew up with the Performa 5200's bong, outright fave

even if it is widely recognized as the worst mac ever built

  • wtf look at the 20th anniversery (1997) and the power mac 9600 ( also 1997) they look so much different!!!

  • Yeah, the 9600 was a regular PowerMac but the TAM was built to celebrate Apple's 20th birthday and looked futuristic at that time.

  • Could you make a full version of the song you played at the beginning?

  • Hello, ive got a question what song is that at the start. Its cool!

  • the first music is rock!!! mixed error music!!

  • i like that startup sound too!

  • Post a link to that remix its tight!

  • My order of preference:

    1. Macintosh Quadra AV (1993)

    2. Power Mac 9500 (1995)

    3. Power Mac 9600 (1997)

  • what is the begging song?

  • Did you remix "Blue Monday" with the Mac alert sounds at the beginning?

    You're awesome. ;-)

  • this is cool!!!!!!!!!!

  • I liked the twentieth anniversary mac noise.

  • amo los primeros 8 segundos del video...

en mi escuela hay un perfoma que dio sad mac al prender y ahora lo tienen de adorno

    (perfoma 630

    xx mHz

    1-2 MB ram

    xxx MB HDD

    ...)

  • Oh my god, poor mac users still have that horrible noise? It's awful!

  • I LOVE it. I'm sad not to have it on my hackintosh D:

  • Horrible!? If you call 0:11 harrible then there's something wrong with you.

I get this good feeling in my body everytime my friend turn on his macbook (I don't own a mac).

  • What's the song at the beginning?

  • He killed?

    He rather saved it.

  • at my middle school for 6th and 7th grade we use PC's with windows 2000 and for 8th grade they use iMac Power PC G3 and the teachers use computers with windows Vista it's confusing

  • great vid thx!

  • Where did you get the beginnging sound?

  • 5200 is the best sound!

  • we have the new macs at my school ^^

  • the 1994 power mac 6100 has the best startup sound.

  • Where can I download the awesome music at the beginning? is there a longer version of it?

  • i have power mac 6100 but its a power pc 6300 and the start up sound is the sound that the mac quadra av makes

  • hey can i have that song at the beggining that was awsome! ^_^

  • Quadra's is so beautiful. (1991)

  • where did yu get the awesome song at the beggining???

  • Sounds like Mario Paint. LOL.

  • the sound of the TAM is so space!

  • 5200's sound is horrible!

i like the "new" one ^^

  • agree

  • 00:22 XD

  • i wanna change my MacBook Pro's startup sound to be like the Performa 5200's.

  • That sound sucks!

  • I love the Quadra one. Sounds way more "Apple", than current ones.

  • @GangstaHedgehog Yep, don't know if it's kind of a 'deja-vu', but i think it is a nicely stylish one (just like the stylish look which Apple always' seeking for its products......the Jobs'-era ones, markedly)....Sort of subliminal message? (hehe, look at me, i'm Apple).....

Anyway, think this tone should be reintrouced again, it's a sweet one though....

  • The sounds for the Quadra and Quadra AV sound like the beginning to a song.

  • "...a new one under Steve Jobs.."

Why fix it if it ain't broke? Besides, he'll give us the option soon (in 3 years) to have a custom boot sound.

  • I like the intro to this video, Blue Monday and the sounds from Mac OS. The Mac startup sound hasn't changed since the iMac G3 was released.

  • :11-:13 reminds me of my old Performa 6300 with that tone. I had that thing from 1994 until 2004, mainly b/c I had an old Jeopardy! game on floppy.

  • Actually, it was a Performa 630 from 1993. (LC 630 for education models & Quadra 630 for business use); the Performa 6300 was built in 1996.

  • i love the first 8 seconds!

  • i wish that there was a longer version of the song at 0-8 sec

    ;)

  • haha! i love them too!

  • them? you mean it?.. oh well :D macs are awesome anyway ;)

  • no, I love the first 8 seconds!

  • Ahhh... :3 misunderstood you ;D love the first 8 seconds... Apple should release a song with every system sound in it :D

  • the best with mac that you dont need eny os to run it . the pc must extra pay for a os i not in pack with the pc well both are very good. but in health BOTH SUCKS

  • Uhm, what about Mac OS? Macs need OSes, too. But they're always shipped with a Mac, that's the difference.

  • Nice! Brings me back to the old Macs, which were way better than Windows!!!!

  • we had those 1987 computers at my old school. in 2005.

thats how poor my old school was

  • you were so lucky! you had macintoshes at school!

at school we have crappy windows 98 pcs, and they're worse than a 1987 computer.

  • i had a windows 98 pc at home, i recently took it apart though. it was pretty good until it was about 7 years old, then we got a new comp lol.

the teachers got to have the ones from 1995

i want to nuke my old school, i hated it

  • Windows 98 is not so bad, but at school our computers are really crappy! they lag very much and they have many bugs. (but one time I tried the con/con bug, and it didn't work! maybe the teacher installed a patch)

At school we also have 4 windows xp computers. but only four! (plus the teacher's pc)

  • yeah, school computers usually are very bad because schools don't want to spend a lot of money on their students

  • I agree.

  • god forbid students be able to learn efficiently

  • amen ;)

  • we got xp and vista computers in the highscool. the 9th grade math and english labs is like the dark alley of xp computing where all the bad stuff happens like crashes, or no mouse plugged in...

  • lmao

yeah my high school is all xp i think, i don't like vista that much. 2000 was really fast though, we had mostly those and a few xp computer labs at my middle school.

  • oh, and at the middleschool, we had computers that were designed to barely run win2k with xp installed on them. sloooooow as craaa... *system error*

  • lol the 2ks were really fast, a lot more than the xps

  • In my school, they used to have mac but 2 months ago, they upgraded to Dell with Vista Preinstall but they downgraded to XP and we had windows 2000 computers.

  • Ehh Power Mac? Its a Macintosh PowerPC 5200.

    PS: Worng startup sound to!

    Nice Video

  • The machine is definitely called Power Macintosh, the processor is a Motorola PowerPC. MacTracker says it's the right startup sound, BTW.

  • The Power Mac 5200 Sounds Strong And Powerful

  • I love that startup sound

  • 5200's is better than all of the other sounds in the video...

  • I agree. I think the 5200 has the best one.

  • That sound sucks!

  • No, it rocks. The 5200's startup bong sounds epic.

  • You love it, and I hate it. That's the difference. We all have an opinion.

  • your right, that is the the best mac sound ever
