I don't know what is it with this one. I simply love it. It just sends me back to that time, when it was all so much easier, even without internet, when love was the greatest gift someone could offer, when it wasn't all about sex and money. I would love to live in that time. Although every time has its flaws. The 19th century is my favourite <3

Just a glorious piece of music. Thank you for sharing. What is it about the Strauss music which makes it so soothing. I never ever tire of listening to the beautiful melodies and sumptuous instrumental blendings within the Johan Strauss pieces. I close my eyes to listen deeply and am invariably always transported to a place of the most sublime tonal and rhythmic beauty within which I could happily linger for an eternity.

@BytomGirl Of the many videos and tributes of this film on YT this scene is not. I believe that there are some sources for it's rental but, I don't know about your area. I recently got a VHS copy thru Amazon at a very good price. It is worth an internet look for a collector. There is music in it by Liszt, Wagner, Mozart, Strauss and Ziehrer. It is a well crafted film and a real classic. Best regards.

For me this is one of the most beautiful waltz tunes of all time. It was used by Max Ophuls in his movie"Letter From An Unknown Woman" and was a perfect fit. By the way,I believe Viennese is spelled with only one i .

My all time favorite Strauss waltz! I used to skate compulsory dances to this waltz at a quicker tempo than is played here.

@BytomGirl I skated in the 60s and early 70s. I have a recording of this waltz played on the Hammond organ at a tempo of 198 beats per minute. It was used for the now defunct 3 Lobe Waltz. At a slower tempo it is also perfect for the Viennese Waltz.

I adore the elegance and sophistication of Viennese waltzes. Some people consider classical music rather serious or too solemn. But it does open its door to those who appreciate the genre.

I love the waltz, as much as I love Beethoven's work, but I still think the images don't do justice to the ideas of that era. I understand the beauty of the human body, but still, perhaps I am just an old fashioned guy, nudity and classical music don't mix for me

You are welcome :-) I don;t consider this nudity even though I am an old fashioned lady myself. This is simply art showing people who love each other and a kiss is an expression of that love. Tthere is a big difference between art subtly showing the natural beauty of human body and expressing romantic love and truly explicit photos. After all, the waltz is called Kiss and is a tribute to love and it's xpression in a tender kiss. At one time waltz was considered to be explicit itself .

Point noted BytomGirl, but don't you think that the 'Walzen' form of dance is itself, not an expression meant to display explicit or implicit art of love, as an affection, rather to 'turn' as in the dance itself. Remember those days even, if you think about it, women were required to remain conservative, and to touch a woman in public meant breaking the norms of those days. The complaints raised against Waltz as a form of dance was the nature of the dance, not the form of expression.
