For the 78's the 3.42 mostly came in the 1/2tons with I-6's, this truck prolly either has 3.08 or 3.73. I'm in the process of restoring a 78 K20 longbed now. I've had 5 of these trucks, two 78's two 79's and an 85. Great video's real people with real trucks

Your plow truck only gets 6 mpg? I would guessed 13-14mpg. My '77 Blazer has 3.73s, no overdrive, and gets 8 mpg.
