they are becoming more popular because they are so quiet. though of course all birds are noisy these are just quieter than alot. also consider a senegal if you want quietness. im stuck between a pionus and a hahns, quite a difference but hey lol
Pionus like all birds can be loud. They are however nicknamed the "perfect parrot" I love mine.
I was in your position with the Hahn's. I chose the pionus because she ran over to me in the bird breeder, and wouldnt go away...i knew right there...that was my companion.
what are they like as pets? tehre is a birdland where i live with free flying birds which we are allowed to handle freely. i found a blue pionus and it was really sweet and loved tickles. i know it was most likely a rescued on ethough, but i am really considering a pionus now, as im in an apartment myself, and the hahns probably would be too loud! thanks for replying btw im STILL thinking about which one lol
