The Russian empire could have easily defeated the Nazis during WWII for several reasons. The first being that they would have much closer relations with other European countries. The main reason why Hitler grew to be so powerful was that the Soviet and Europe had tense relations and would not cooperate initially. Second of all, the Tsar would not execute Russia's best generals like Stalin did. Also the Russians would be far better prepared under the Tsarist government than the Soviet one.

I believe the Semenovsky Regiment was formed under the auspices of Peter the Great, same as the Preobrazhensky Regiment. If memory serves me right, the Preobrazhenskys wer supposed to be tall, fair-haired Russians and the Semenovskys were to be dark haired and dark eyed Russians. The Russian empire could have easily defeated the Nazis during WWII for several reasons. The first being that they would have much closer relations with other European countries. The main reason why Hitler grew to be so powerful was that the Soviet and Europe had tense relations and would not cooperate initially. Second of all, the Tsar would not execute Russia's best generals like Stalin did. Also the Russians would be far better prepared under the Tsarist government than the Soviet one.

Also I don't see how having a monarchy makes a country primitive, after all monarchy is a far more advanced form of government than democracy or any other alternative. Also perhaps you could provide proof that the Russian empire was in such a bad state like you claim. SInce I have the statistics to prove you otherwise.

From Socrates to Anatole France, the intellectual community has traditionally always favored monarchy. So there is nothing absurd about the notion that monarchy is superior to democracy. Before attacking the Romanov dynasty you should learn how to spell it first. And yes, I am saying that someone who has been trained from birth to run the country is more qualified to rule it than people who have no knowledge of politics whatsoever. Politics is a very complex thing. Not everyone is qualified to run the country just like not everyone is qualified to do a heart surgery. And yes I am aware of the February revolution. It was a small mutiny which could've been crushed easily.

Very high actually. Even a monarch with mediocre skills is well prepared to do his job. So it is very likely to get a relatively decent king. Miserable history ? Provide me with some sort of evidence that this is true. A full fledged rebellion ? It could have easily been crushed by the members of the imperial guard. However most the imperial guard were on the front. The only troops in Petragrad were poorly trained militia.

His military victories made Russia into a great regional power, and in the long run allowed it to become the great empire which it did. Are you referring to Nicholas I and Alexander II ? I believe the Semenovsky Regiment was formed under the auspices of Peter the Great, same as the Preobrazhensky Regiment. If memory serves me right, the Preobrazhenskys wer supposed to be tall, fair-haired Russians and the Semenovskys were to be dark haired and dark eyed Russians. If I am mistaken in this, someone please correct me. The music for both regiments is stirring and exciting. Were either or both of these regiments involved in actual combat with Soviet Forces, or are they ceremonial?
