  • I can see how some have said that the Soviet Union foundered in a lack of imagination. And yet it seems odd to have such a highly imaginative film that ultimately has such a thorough deconstruction of the imaginative character as a counter-productive burden and an unstable mind. Using imagination to produce counter-imaginative messages seems fairly peculiar and sort of explains the doublethink that came into play after Stalin took over.

  • you fool. It is a truly socialist ending moral : don't dream, but do.

And there was no "slave-labour' to be done, well not yet. There was yet socialism to build ! To be done in joy and happiness.

But I doubt you may understand.

  • With an ending moral like that (don't strive for your dreams - there's slave-labour to be done!) no wonder the Soviets lost...

  • KOHEU!

  • i prefer the aelita from code lyoko

  • I've heard about this film for many years, but have never seen it. Thank you for posting it!! Interesting, very anti-capitalist, very anti-monarchic, very good film. Almost the opposite of science fiction in a way, saying that it's "daydreaming" in a destructive way, which I think is somewhat true. Loved it!!

  • I'm so glad he didn't kill her. Thanks so much for posting! I love silent movies.
