I was going along with the list up until number 1. The demon from paranormal activity doesn't count into the sci-fi genre. Other than that I can respect this list.

here's a serious question... (i myself don't believe in ghosts sorry) however if they do exist what methods would a person use to detect them? Maybe electro-magnetic disturbances, thermal changes, gases, oders what do you think?
I good answer to that question is to watch those shows like ghost hunters or any of those shows on the discovery channel. They use all kinds of equipment and techniques to detect ghosts, you should check it out, hope this helps!!

actually when ghostbusters was in production mr ramis approached an actual and asked the same things i listed but like you currently we have no sure fire way to finds ghost. But catching an actual ghost and holding (if we could figure it out i mean) it for study could be of great scientific value. I as a man of science thibk idf that would happen then evil demons haunting houses would be eliminated forever. this all rest on thne idea if ghosts are real or not which doubt.
It would be nice though, if we could actually find out for sure, and if a business could be made out of it, hell it would answer my life long question of "What Do You Wanna Do With Your Life" ?
I remember when I was in 6th grade and told people (teachers, counselors) that I wanted to study parapsychology - they thought I was CraZy! I bet you a kid wouldn't get that reaction these days...
