  • Goodness me the interviewer is spectacularly ignorant.

  • paxman's incredulity when chomsky suggests things are worse under Obama is illustrative of the way the media think Obama is some kind of dove on foreign policy, Paxman is probably totally oblivious to the fact Obama is waging 5-6 wars, he increased the afghan war, is carrying on Bush's policy in Iraq and had increased drone strikes in pakistan, HE MAY NOT HAVE STARTED THESE WARS, BUT THEY'RE NOW HIS WARS, HE FAILED TO END ANY OF THEM.

  • love Paxmans shocked pause when Noam says he uses a computer :oooooo

  • Assange reckons that the Arab Spring revolutions never used Facebook or Twitter because they are heavily monitored. Repressive governments want people to use these sites so that uprisings can be quickly stamped out.

  • chomsky makes paxman look like the massive smug bellend he secretly is

  • @fpscockyboi It's no secret.

  • Does anyone else want to friend Noam Chomsky on Facebook?

  • i am a great admirer of Chomsky, but he misled on what he "famously said" about US presidents and Nuremberg. Just search on "If the Nuremberg laws were applied" at google.

  • @zhwarday88 I think he was emphasising the difference between 'would be hanged' and 'should be hanged'.

  • Why wont Paxman shut up about the internet

  • @prosmurf The internet is much more than a diversion. If left open and free it may well be the last true democracy. Government's understand this too well and often shutdown or control the internet. In the case of the Egyptian and Tunisian uprisings against US backed tyrannies, the internet played a major role in giving voice to a benighted people. Communication has never been faster or more robust in human history. Its not a trivial matter.

  • God this interviewer is horrific

  • @rjjk91 What do you mean? If you mean scary, that's his persona.. if you mean unskilled, well.. you don't know his work, so i shan't flame you for that opinion, but i strongly disagree.

  • @lo2enge why do you strongly disagree? He asked mundane questions and clearly had no interest in having a serious discussion or ask deep questions. He basically just asked Chomsky to explain himself

  • @rjjk91 It's because i've seen him interview many people. He has a fine sense of when to press a point, and when to just let an interviewee do their own thing.. which in Chomsky's case is never a bad thing. This wasn't meant to be about Noam personally, this was meant to be about his thoughts on the uprisings in the middle-east/north africa. It certainly wasn't meant to be a debate.

  • The war in Iraq is still going don't buy the propaganda. They brought in 100 thousand mercenaries and then took out 50 thousand combat soldiers. Then labeled the remaining troops non-combat.
