  • im so proud of you... I am nearing the end of my 6 month pre op and so ready to start my 2 wewek diet... scarred as heck, but i have a great group of family and friends.. I thank everyone for putting these videos up to help the others, your by far is the most honest. :-) keep it up

  • Just to let you know, You're beautiful!

  • you look frikkin fantastic! I am just now looking into getting this procedure. You are my inspiration......i too dont want to have to obsess over tedious dieting and exercise after and thank you for sharing your experience!!!

  • if you don't mind me asking what was your starting weight?

  • I love your realistic approach to presenting the information to others adjusting or inquiring about the surgery. Congratulations!!!!

  • I'm 21 months out from a Gastric Sleeve and have lost 120 pounds so far and I love how you put this journey. It pretty much is the same way I feel, I go to a support group once a month and it kills me how a lot of people constantly complain about how they could not stop eating food and before surgery I ate normally once a day. When I had my surgery on May 10, 2010 I was 339 pounds. The only reason I even had the surgery was to help me get a spinal fusion and I am still working towards that goal

  • WELL SAID!!!!!!

  • OMG! Thank you! I am 62 years old, male, and have been struggling all my life with weight. You have covered everything I have gone thru and what this operation has done for you. I am in the process of everything leading up to the Sleeve operation. I just can't wait. I am so excited and your video has given me a real boost because I am so much like you in my dieting attitudes and the way you feel about dieting and people who diet. How are things going now since your last video?

  • Thanks for your honesty!! Plus its good to see someone from Louisiana on here. In gearing up to have my surgery in a few months. I plan on keeping it real with myself as well.

  • You're being honest! I love it! You look great :) Just had my sleeve done last week...We shall see how it goes. I had the band and had to have that revised. Thank you for sharing your story!

  • I needed to hear that, my sister had the same surgery as you and she started off walking 3 miles a day, and I was wondering why was she working so hard, this is the whole point for her getting the surgery. I'm glad she wasn't being lazy, but what was the point so soon, she was going to lose weight regardless. I'm so like you in many ways when it comes to weight and go do the workout thing etc. I'm going to send my information out tomorrow to the doctor that did my sister's surgery. Thanks again

  • YOU SAID JUST WHAT I NEED TO HERE!..I'M GOIN FOR IT!

  • Thank you for keeping it real for all of us. My surgery date is next week and I'm so ready! This video was awesome!

  • Hi there! I want to congratulate you for your awesome journey, you look AMAZING!!! I'm currently undergoing the process of gastric bypass and I have so many questions. Like for instance why you choose Gastric Sleeve vs Gastric Bypass? And yes I too hate exercise and I love to eat but I'm tired of being FAT so I'm willing to change off-course w/the help of the sx b/c to be honest I can't do it all myself. I'm currently 5'6" 260lbs...any advice pls feel free to email me yodelania@yahoo.com tx ;D

  • you give me hope!!!! you look great

  • You are amazing!! Im starting my journey this February and I loved hearing the truth. I am trired of hearing pity parties from others and listening to all the negatives. Thank you for the positive video!

  • You look fantastic! I really appreciated you honesty in this video. It was really refreshing and made me feel less intimidated about the "blood sweat and tears" I'm going to have to put into my weight loss journey.

  • I have come to appreciate how real you are!!...You've got a good

I'm a guy who weighs 475 lbs and hooking up with my doctor this week to get a referral for surgery.

I live in Canada, and very recent (year or 2) has the government approved full coverage for this surgery.....soooo....sick and tired of being sick and tired...so looking forward to starting off on my own journey. P.S...I too hate exercise!!...lol...thanks for sharing these vids...perhaps I could do for others as well one day soon!!

  • My surgery is scheduled Dec. 21, 2011! I'm too excited. Thank you for the advice!

  • please find me on facebook if u have it Kristina Aliff or plz email me @ krissiealiff@yahoo.com. i could use some advice. and seen that u had great progress id love to talk to u about it more

  • i am about to have the sleeve done with in the next 6 months do u have any advice for me. i could use it. my aunt had it done about a month ago and shes not really alot of help. cause she tells me not to do it

  • You are my hero!!

  • I wanted to say that you are a very beautiful woman inside and out. I enjoyed watching your video!! I'm in the process of trying to get my Gastric Sleeve done. Unfortunate that I'm only in the beginning stage and wished I already had it done. I want my life back. I had a major car accident in 96 where I had to learn how to walk again and since then, my back has been worse through the years. Since I'm in so much pain, it's very hard for me to do any excising to get my weight off. Congrats!!

  • You look fabulous! I am having surgery in the next month or so and I loved how you were "real." It gives me hope!

  • I love the fact that you stated that it's not hard. I love the way you don't act pretty even though you are beautiful any way ou are. :-) I'm proud of you and I am going to do it in the next few months. Love your post.

  • @megasingheart Thanks so much! Good for you, taking the first step to the rest of your life! Keep things in perspective and you won't regret it. Wishing you all the best!

  • You have answered so many questions in a positive way. I am two weeks pre op and worried about everything "I think I am going to have to do". I know that everyone is different but to know that I can treat myself now and then without punishing myself is going to make this easier than I thought.

  • @queenbeehive1 You're welcome. And yes, please don't punish yourself, we've all done enough of that already. Don't diet either, instead just let your body naturally increase its consumption and focus your efforts on water, vitamins and protein. The rest will work itself out.

  • you are doing an awesome job..good blessings on your journey

  • I can't tell you what an inspiration you have been for me. I have just completed the hoops my insurance made me jump through and am waiting to be approved for the sleeve surgery. Of course I have been wading though video after video here on you tube. Some of them, yes, have been very distressing and I was starting to get very apprehensive about the whole thing. You have brought it back down to earth for me and I once again feel really good about going forward. Thank you so much for posting.

  • Congrats on the loss!!!! 160 is AMAZING! how awesome to be at goal!

  • GREAT DRESS!!!!!!

  • @RRRRRRRRR51 Thanks, that's sweet.

  • Amazing !! you look wonderful!!

  • @lijuarez1 Thank you..

  • well said..i agree with you totally..i have not had to excersise at all and i am 16 months out and have lost 131lbs.. you look awsome ..what a cute dress..

  • @cancerfree200 Thanks. I'm not really advocating not exercising, just more saying if the gym and a 5-day a week regime isn't your thing, I think that's okay. Balance instead of rules and punishment have served me well since my surgery and I think it can for others too.

  • I so agree with all you said sweetie!! and you are some body and I loved all that you had to say my friend really....keep posting for sure it helps all....You look amazing and I just did a video about the scale and I needed you right now so thank you thank you....love rosemary

  • @gastricRose Oh Rosemary, you're so sweet! I am a huge fan of your videos and have watched your journey since I became a member in February 2010. You have inspired me to no end! Thanks for your support!

  • You look wonderful! I absolutely understand your thinking in this vid.

  • @elleh72 Thank you Elle!

  • this is sooo good to hear, i am having the gastric bypass on the 29th. I would love it if you would help me out with some tips that you have if you wouldnt mind. I am definetly a little nervous but excited at the same time. Mrsangelah24

  • @Mrsangelah24 I would be happy to help. Feel free to email me anytime with any questions you have.

And make sure you pick out a great therapist!

  • I so agree with you. I had the sleeve so that I did not have to diet. I was told 'go away live your life and try and be a bit more active. At the beginning you have a swollen pouch so eat protein first at meals'. I never heard about this obsession with 'bad carbs' until I watched 'you tube'. I have PCOS, have never cut out carbs, eat McD's or whatever I want and have lost 85lbs so far. Thanks for showing that I am not alone in finding that the sleeve reduces your input so enjoy it!

  • @alihewett Great to hear I have comrades out there..........all the best of luck to you in your continued journey!

  • Wow u look good congrats on ur weight loss

  • @Shahni811 Thank you.......I finally don't cringe when I look in the mirror, although sometimes I do still forget I've changed and am scared to look and then when I do look it's like, whew!

  • Cute dress!! looking good

  • @berri1962 Thanks, it's a little number I bought for going out to the club with my hubby on date night!

  • I love your videos, thanks for posting.. Please keep making videos. I love the dress and you look beautiful you should be proud....

  • @losetobemeagain Thanks so much, especially for your continued support!
