Great compilation, but all the sequels are not written by Stephen King the only sequel he has participated is creepshow 2, and of course the dark tower series.
Stephen King's books are the best books in the world, I'd always wanted to know how many movies are of his books n_n Thanks for the video, long life to King!! :D
10 minutes in: Children of the corn 197856345, Children of the corn 197856346, Children of the corn 197856347 (10 hours later) Children of the corn 195763836598634854634974893473947658...
IT is a very long and interesting book. I read it when I was 13... and the movie I watched at 5 ¬¬ when I read the book I said: Damn... that movie is very very poor :S
My top 10 favourites are: 1. It 2. Storm of the Century 3. Rose Red 4. Sleepwalkers 5. Pet Cementary 6. Misery 7. Silver Bullet 8. Desperation 9. The Dark Half 10. The Mist
wow, before this i thought my collection of stephen king movies was big, i have 8. i need to go out and buy more. i have acctually seen more then 8 though.
Um he actually sued the director of Lawnmower Man for using his name to sell that movie it's not based on or even inspired by his story, they're polls apart.
@KronantheBarbarian I kno, the judge said if the director didn't removed his name from the movies history, he would have to pay King $25000 a day or somthin.
My all time favourite movies from King would have to be: Misery, Dolores Claiborne, Pet Sematary, Stand By Me & Thinner. However I still haven't seen all so I may have more favourite ones added to my collection.
yea stephen king makes some good horror movies. My favorite are it, children of the corn, pet semetary, and the shining. Espicially the shining that twin scene scared the living shit out of me
@chelseybabyyy, nah pet semetary 2 like children of the corn 2, 3, 4 etc are all said to be associated with stephen king but he had nothing to do with them, only the originals, sequels are just for money, i don't think they would have made much anyway lol
Also, LawnMower Man isn't related to him either. King has a story called LawnMower Man in Nght Shift, but there is no associationt between the story and the movie.
Im not positive but I don't think Stephen King made Pet Sematary two. But pet Sematary, Kingdom Hospital, Children of the Corn, and the Carrie's were my favorites from his.
Have there ever been comic books namned Creepshow in the US or do they only exist in the two movies by Stephen King?
The best movies, and books, in my opinion is The Shining, Pet Sematary, and It. Pet Sematary scares the hell out of me. I watched it once and had to sleep with the light on for a week, seriously, though I was 16 at the time. Haha! That's what horror movies are meant to do I guess.
apt pupil is fucking sick.. i love his books, and watched only some of his movies, but i love them too. only shit thing is that sequels just dont work....
@MiKKA335 That's a matter of opinion...I don't care much for some of the sequels that came out, but there are many more Stephen King classics than just those two movies - Carrie, The Shining, Misery, Stand By Me..just to name a few. I'm also surprised you focused merely on two that were outside of the horror genre that he defined in his career. Stephen King is a household name associated with horror. Are you more a fan of his drama than his horror?
Depends on u. Some ppl are totally freaked by it, but others aren't. I was when I saw it 1st time as 12. But now I'm 18 and the parts where he growls or whatever are creepy, but it's not really scary.
yeah im sorry i meant 2 say the running man. i finished it and its was good, weird ending though. the book really isnt scary like the shining or it. its kinda like a sci-fi suspense
Sorry, Carl, but you missed at least one: "Stephen King's 'Night Shift' Collection." It's a VHS tape (remember those?) with two short films based on stories in "Night Shift": "The Boogeyman" and "The Woman in the Room." The latter was written and directed by Frank Darabont, the man who directed "Shawshank," "Green Mile," and "The Mist." It's good. Maybe you could update this video....
Early versions of the film alluded that they were related to a 'Stephen King' work. King did write a short story called "The Lawnmower Man'', but it was completely different to the movie. King sued the film makers, and had his name removed from the film.
I really liked the original short story "The Lawnmower Man". I remember that came out in the "Night Shift" collection of short stories, which, I think, also included "Trucks" and a story about this guy who drank a beer with something in it that slowly turned him into a gelatinous thing with flat yellow eyes, he had his kid keep bringing him beer, finally the sheriff comes 'cause the kid's scared sh*tless and all hell breaks loose when that thing opens the door.
is all of those shitty looking sequals written by stephen king?
cause it seems like it is just some peanutbrained producer thought " oh jolly, that movie went great! lets make another one! this will for sure be better since we have more special effects!".......dumass...
if sequels to good movies don't have the original cast crew.. They're usually always worse. I mean making 7 Children of the corns with different people.. Who seriously watches those and enjoys all.
@philosophermike It would have to be Stanley Kubrick's Carrie because in part 2 they show clips from part 1 and it's from that Carrie. The movie even has the same actress who survived in part 1.
i currently own about 40 odd movies based on his novels and short stories, own all his novels, "Shawshank Redemption" is without a doubt the best movie of them all, "The Stand", however seems to be my fav book and movie, "Green Mile", pretty much dead on the novel therefore brilliant, wish they would make "The Dark Tower" series into movies that would be epic
Actually, it's only J.J. Abrams who is doing the Dark Tower, and it's being made into a movie, but not until LOST is finished, because King thinks Abrams has enough on his plate without adding the Dark Tower to it. think about it, Abrams has done cloverfield, Lost, Fringe, Star Trek... King knows what he's doing.
Mine are- Stand by me, Shawshank, The Stand, Green Mile oh and Pet Sematary Carrie , Needful Things, Cujo , Childern of the corn, The Mist was cool so was 1408 - Think I have seen them all
My favoutite forever: Rose Red, It, The Stand, Dolores Claiborne, Green Mile, Sometimes they are come back, Kingdom Hospital, Pet sematary,Storm of the Century, Carrie, Dreamcatcer, Secret Window, Riding the Bullet, 1408, The Mist... ^.^
i would have to agree with u on that because everyone is so rude about that movie because its so long and the book is too in deep into the bible they think.
The Lawnmower Man movies have nothing to do with the story of the same name. Absolutely nothing. King refused to let the studio use his name in the title because of this.
nightmares and dreamscapes turned out pretty well, and desperation was good too (these were tv movies), but there are too many sequels, especially to children of the corn and sometimes they come back!!! these were like 20-page short stories!!!!
Stephen King is my second cousin. I'd have to say my favorite Stephen King book was Hearts in Atlantis (however, the movie adaptation SUCKED) my favorite adaptation of one of his books would be Apt Pupil or Misery. Both varied from the books in areas, but they were still amazing! Anyway, I just saw Carrie (1976) for the first time. I thought the book was much better, but the movie was pretty good.
i totaly agree with you but dont forget rita hayworth and shawshank redemption the movie along with misery, apt pupil and secret window, secret garden.
you shouldn't include lawnmower man, thats not based on his book the company just stole his title added a lawnmower to the story and added his name to it, he sued for defamation or something. The original ia about a fat Mr.Tomnas Pan worshipping lawnmowerman.
It's 'Hall of the Mountain King', but beats me who wrote it - it's a classical, but I can't remember who wrote it... sorry, I can help only this much... Dx
I am totally hooked on the books of Stephen King. And Misery is one of the best adaptions. Kathy Bates is really good in that movie. She was crazy as hell.

you shouldn't include lawnmower man, thats not based on his book the company just stole his title added a lawnmower to the story and added his name to it, he sued for defamation or something. The original ia about a fat Mr.Tomnas Pan worshipping lawnmowerman.

I am totally hooked on the books of Stephen King. And Misery is one of the best adaptions. Kathy Bates is really good in that movie. She was crazy as hell.

The Lawnmower Man isn't his, they used the name but if you read the story it is way different.
