  • Fred & Barney smoking weed.

  • My great uncle Nester started smoking Winstons at 12 ..... but they killed him at 32 ...He was run over by a Winstons cigarette truck...

  • Yeah, try yelling out "Yabba Dabba Doo!" with a tracheostomy...

  • smoke......smoke.....smoke....are you smoking yet?

  • 0:37 Fred and Barney checking out Wilma's ass.

  • *hears the theme tune of flinstones at the near end of the ad* oh yeah! this brings me good memories :)

  • Danish Prince cigerrets is better O.o

  • One thing's for sure, Fred Flintstone is not the Marlboro Man.

  • Back when smoking was healthy :))

  • wait, how did they get lighters...

  • PLEASE BE CAREFUL when trying to stop smoking- it KILLED my poor 82YO mum.

For years she’d been an invalid & I’d had to do all her shopping. A chain smoker her entire adult life, much of her pension was spent on up to 20 packs a week. Last year I suddenly decided to put a stop to this & refused to buy any more, despite her pleading.

That same week she died from a heart attack- the doctor said it was due to the ‘cold turkey’ physical shock, but that he’s not allowed to put that in his reports!

  • @SuperTruth77 sure... and 20packs a week takeing her intire pension? a pack is like 8bucks at tops, 5 in idaho. 160 a month isent much at all really,

  • @wbubby Eh? How did a week suddenly become a month in your calculation? Do you work at the Treasury by any chance?

  • @wbubby if its 20 packs a week then that makes 80+ packs a month. so 80 by 8 is 640 bucks a month. that is quite a lot.

  • Yabba dabbba-*COUGH-*COUGH*-*WEEZZE*

  • I didn't know Barney had such an eloquent vocabulary! Maybe smoking makes you smart! lol(sarcasm)

  • ye barney whinston gives you the best cancer!! :D

  • I thought the filter was the tan-colored thing you suck out of, not the place where you stuff the tobacco into.

  • winston sucks,i smoke for 4 years only kent and pall mall, winston has a wierd taste and they dont hve that "flaveour"

  • Winston taste good, Till they killed my father.

  • Why are they talking about taste? Cigarettes taste like shit!

  • Aww c'mon, give Betty and Welma one.

  • I've always wanted to ass fuck Betty !

  • YABBA DABBA-- *has a hacking cough fit* Doo.

  • sure is a shame that those five-year old COD-playing brats can't see a real classic 60s icons like this...

...my perceived level of sarcasm can makes this hilarious or just plain depressing...

  • such healthy, non-sexist times these were

  • Tobacco companies wouldn't try to sell to little kids......would they?

  • @oldbob1951 Only to cool kids.

  • @oldbob1951 Back then I don't think there were so many things to watch on TV, adults watched cartoons!

  • winston taste good like a "click click" cigarette should.

  • You think Fred and Barney were going to smoke a joint! Nah... big tobacco never marketed to kids

  • YEH, TOBACCO COMPANIES NEVER MARKETED TO KIDS. Bastards!!!!!!!

  • @007MrMagoo

This was an adult show I thought?

  • @SuperiorSquid What? How many people do you know who waited till they were 21 to watch the Flintstones?

    It's a kids show.

  • @007MrMagoo

The first two seasons were not kids orientated, the later shows were. So the sponser became a juice company.

  • @SuperiorSquid Oh OK. I wasn't aware of that. Truce?

  • @007MrMagoo

Allright mayn, I will accept it JUST FOR THIS ONCE my friend.

  • @SuperiorSquid Cool with me. BTW I've been a smoker for 21 years. I'd love to quit but Fred and Barn are making it hard for me.

  • @007MrMagoo

Yea I smoke quite often now, but I just live Ying Yang, dont smoke TO much. just a bit.

  • @TheRobAlva no its not, do u live in a cave?

  • @k12rising It's a joke. Here's some anal stick remover.

  • @TheRobAlva Make my daughter do it all the time!! She don't get away with NONE of that "I'm a girl so I don't have to do it" bullshit..EVER!

  • @SacredSocietyAP way to go Rob

  • @knattyman Who is Rob?

  • They just ruined my childhood...

  • I lol'd

  • That's AS a cigarette should. My freshmen class English made anyone write a composition who improperly used the world like.He couldn't teach today with these valley girls, illegal aliens, and mulunyans.

  • @ImDavidGurney getting a little racist towards the end there...

  • haha nice !

  • Cartoon characters use to sell beer and cigarettes and you could buy m-80s for the 4th of July. It must of been fun in the 50s and 60s.

  • This is surreal. Hey kids how about a clean, crisp, and refreshing Winston, after your morning bowl of fruity pebbles.

  • Why did they Ban Cigarettes commercials?

  • THESE are the Flintstones I remember, from 1961, before they got wimpy and toned down. The gentlemen were lazy bums sometimes letting Wilma and Betty do all the work, but in the end, they shared their smokes with the lovely ladies. Bravo!

  • hmm wonder what this said to kids

  • A-YABA-DABA-DOOO start smokn' kids!

  • MUST - START - SMOKING - MUST - START - SMOKING.

  • Wow. u could never pull this off on TV anymore.

  • wat 2 go kids............

  • they have a better star was tv comceral to teach planet earth nasa outer space children adults teenagers junirs boys and girls do not smoke its bad for your health it shows r2 d2 dsmoking abnd cp3po tells r2 not to smoke but he falls into sin of the planet earth starts the smoker cough he falls appart he did not heed Jesus warning by cp3po

  • I remember Candy Cigarettes & I remember chewing gum cigars in a cigar pack. Get this; right now, there REALLY ARE scientists who used to do 'research' for tobacco companies but could not link them to cancer - then they found work for the oil companies denying Climate Change. Names? Frederick Seitz and Fred Singer to name two. Apparently, they can suck at many things.

Fascism is CORPORATE control of gov't (lookup Bennito Mussolini) and read 'Merchants of Doubt' by Oreskes & Conway

  • This show wasn't for kids back then

  • Wow. I bet this commercial didn't air that long before someone said something, and had it taken off. It's still amazing to see how far those company's are willing to go to sell cigarettes.

  • those idiots used the flintstones to help encourage kids to smoke and end their lives quicker they will burn in hell

  • Here in Canada, we had candy cigs made from bubble gum and wrapped in paper. When you blew out, powder would come out. The packaging was convincing; actual American brand names-Viceroy, L&M etc. in the same style. The manufacturer was Magic Colors. 15 cents a pack at Safeway in the '70s.

  • @rever65 I live in Switzerland and remember buying those gum cigarettes you described a few years back (I'm 18 now, so it was probably 8-10 years ago?). I think they've banned them now, though. Too bad. It never made me want to smoke to be honest

  • Ну и рекламааааа!!!))))))ха хахаха

  • Winston 100's

  • no wonder they went extinct

  • Wow don't remember this commercial but back then they didn't know how bad cigarettes were for you! This would've made kids smoke! Heck I remember as a kid they had candy that came in cigarette packs and it was shaped like cigarettes and if you blew threw it real hard you could get smoke (which was probably powdered sugar) to come out the other end like a real cigarette. That candy was probably taken off the market a long time ago!

  • This has convinced me and 300,000 other school aged children to smoke.

  • I don't believe they aired this commercial. It was banned due to nature of kids getting involved in smoking. They pull it off the air cuz Winston did not want to have any liability got kids smoking. And besides, cartoon wasn't a good way to market.

  • "We are Flintstones cigs, ten million sick and dying...."

  • @soylentteal LMFAO!!!!!!!!

  • lol wtf

  • "Let's go around back where we can't see them" LOL

  • So......What year was this?

  • sexist

  • and all the dinosaurs died of secondhand smoke

  • Imagine if in real-life you were hanging on the street with a friend, eating whatshit and then your friend starts describing the product as if he was trying to sell it to you...

  • Winston was the name that a group of girls I went to high school gave the male sex organ.Do you think without the graphic,Fred and Barney could be some sort of in the closet homos?

  • Wow...talk about an incredible advert.

  • All the cool kids are doing it!

  • that was hilarious.

  • PARLIAMENTS FUCKING SUCK!!! CAMELS FUCKING OWN!!!

  • winstones hast the worst effects on smokers, they stop you from growing taller

  • @vladuthz1994 any cigaretts can have that effect if u smoke to much not just winston

  • every time i put an avert to watch, another fuckin advert comes up!!! enogh with fuckin adverts!!!! haha.

  • Hey Kids! You saw it...you cant unsee it! Pick up smoking and make your women do your shit!!

  • I live in Australia, you can not get winston here. but I had one once that was imported; It was the best cigarette I ever had, it tasted amazing.

  • Hey kids, It's Fred Flintstone here "Telling you to step right up & puff your brains out on some of these great smokes, & while your @ it, just go ahead & be a big fat, bloated, male chauvinistic pig of a man & make your wife do all the chores too". I'm surprised that they didn't mix in a scotch add with that, just to be complete & get hammered, kick Dino & pitch Wilma down the rock quarry . . ?

  • Winston always was a disgusting tasting cigarette!

  • I've never wanted a cigarette as much as I do right now. *shrugs* Well Fred Flintstone hasn't sent me in the wrong direction before. I'm off to buy some Winston's.

  • See, Barney got them all hooked on Winstons. I knew you could never trust him. Good thing Betty knew better. Bless her soul

  • LOL AWESOME!

  • @TheTwinTowers,

And one more thing: no, greasy cheeseburgers don't cause cancer.

They do, however, contribute to obesity and heart disease...currently the #1 killer in the United States.

  • @TheTwinTowers,

Nothing wrong with my smile. I'm not a smoker.

I just don't like it when double-standards are used to curb what law-abiding, adult citizens see and hear. And I don't think we do our kids any favors by shielding them from the bad habits they're going to come into contact with anyway.

But thanks for being insulting when I'm just voicing my opinion. I respect differing viewpoints and those who have them. I'm sorry you don't.

  • winston churcill smoked his entire life and died at 90 years old..........

  • DARN THOSE FLINTSTONES!

Don't they realise that smoking cigarettes poses many dangers to your body? As well as many different cancers: sperm count is lowered, lung power is reduced, your skin ages much faster, and many more problems that prevent you from reaching old age (unless you're really lucky!)

Speaking of which, I'm going to go light up a cigarette. Mmm.

We choose to smoke, we're not telling all of you to in this day and age.

Your arguments are getting old and boring, I love cigs, yum!

  • hey fred flinstone is smoking! thats imitatable!

  • That explains it! Dinosaurs became extinct from second hand smoke

  • @Ruinedbad No, according to my tennis coach, it was because they couldn't serve (short arms)

  • If Fred Flinstone is telling mommy and daddy that he likes a certain brand of cigarette, I will defend to the death mommy and daddy's right to smoke it if they want. (Yes, in front of their kids if they feel like it, kids need to re-learn that they don't have the same rights as adults. I was never so influenceable as a kid.)

They don't need to be demonized for smoking, it's none of our business. Honestly. PCness needs to die back down. Now.

  • @Hottides,

I don't need--or want--my government looking after my health and habits.

And personally, I don't think Americans are any more "stupid" than the politicians making the laws to protect them.

What's next, greasy cheeseburgers? Sugared soft-drinks? Here's one: how about a federally-mandated exercise program that would make it illegal to be overweight.

I have the right as an American to make decisions regarding my own health...and to imbibe when I choose.

  • @laronmaron98 You sound like a conservative, and being a libertarian myself, I agree 1000%. I think we're smarter than the retards we put in D.C.

  • @laronmaron98 except burgers do not cause cancer. Go chew some gum - no one wants your yellow smile around ;)

  • Smoking Kills

    nahhh

    nahh

  • LOL funny. how times have changed. PC Bullshit everywhere now.

  • @uzimodem aint it the truth... PC has made the world fucking stupid and weak... no one can handle anything anymore, you go 'boo' to someone on the street, they fucking crap their pants.

  • @hcvang :LOL so true, sadly. now the truth is poisen or "Racist." Total madness, it really is.

  • There in the stone age,how did they get cigs

  • @gamecubemaster1990 Because they're in the STONED age.

  • @NathanS68

No, those really were the good ol' days.

I don't miss the false advertising...the hiding of irrefutable evidence that cigarettes kill.

But I *do* miss the days where government didn't regulate what products we saw on television, for fear we'd be too dumb to choose for ourselves...or raise our kids with those values.

  • @laronmaron98 like giving a movie a rating based on smoking? Rated R for extreme violence, gore, nudity, language, excessive drug use and smoking

  • @laronmaron98 Federal regulation of TV advertising canned on-air endorsements of tobacco products, which doubtless saved untold lives. Since many people are obviously too stupid to adopt heavy habits without oversight, some federal regulation is beneficial.

  • @Hottides You're insane. The government's made up of a bunch of power-hungry retards who don't happen to be (or replace my) parents, so they might as well butt out of our business and stop regulating stuff, or at least regulate this sort of thing fairly (getting rid of beer commercials, for example).

Plus, I'd rather have someone more responsible give me advice. $14 trillion of debt not exactly responsible or smart, so I'd stop calling people "stupid" if I were you.

  • This Commercial is pure evil hahaha

  • cheap cigarettes from europ

  • Didn't a bunch of them die of lung cancer?

  • Ah, back in the day when you didn't have to think about things being bad for health!

  • what 's with all the bad talk about the good old day's befor the goverment said the thing were baD for you

  • Comment removed

  • didnt know that winston was created in the early ages of humanity

  • WTF now now why these were banned: kids started smoking :P

  • now I want to smoke.....DAMN YOU FUCKING PSYCHOLOGICAL COMERCIALS TO MAKE WANT TO SMOKE!!

    (shakes fist)

  • You would think they would have called them "Winstone" cigarettes.

  • @Deke101 best comment on the youtubes yet....

  • I wish cigs were still blatantly advertised on TV.

  • @NathanS68 well cartoons were originally intended for adults

  • Wilma used to smoke back in the day ?

l'm disscusted with her, l never would have thought that she was such a two bit turd puffin whore !!!

  • Does anyone think its ironic that the ad that pops up in the middle of this video is a Quit Smoking ad???

  • That's funny. I remember The

That's funny. I remember The Flintstones being sponsored by Welches' Grape Juice!

  • This is a pretty good advertisement for lung cancer! No wonder so many kids started smoking so early.

  • I love Fred's lighter. It's like got two wooden sticks which rub together to make a flame. Where can I get one? :P

  • and only winston has it. up front where it counts

  • That's it, I'm picking up smoking.

  • no wonder people started smoking in middle school(kids)

  • Fred and Barney look fairly well toasted here - but their cigarette is not.

    I choose Lucky Strike!

    Not only is it toasted

    Its mot poisonious

and it is what Don Draper tells me to smoke. And no matter what you think of him - he at least is not a damned cartoon character!

  • Smoking's been known to make marginally rational people go bonkers over the sight of a smoker. The pleasure a smoker undertakes gets at the very craw of these marginally sane people in a way that defies explanation. The anti-smoker begins to sweat uncontrollably, eyeballs begin spinning, and heart rates spin out of control. There's no treatment or cure, other than a padded room for a spell.

  • Winston tastes bad like the one I just had

    No filter, no flavor

    Just rolled up toilet paper

  • @susandiane311 How about this one too for a version- 'No filter, no taste- just a 30 cent waste!'

Remember- in '61 cigarettes were cheap, and in 1966, at the time we sang the Winston TV ad tune as mere 2nd graders- were still only 30 cents a pack!

  • Saw this at Rain on Broadway

  • Am I the only one who has noticed that Fred doesn't appear to be actually smoking the cigarettes?

Just look at Barney, he actually inhales and then exhales the smoke, but Fred doesn't! I can almost imagine the scenario if these were actual actors instead of cartoon characters, and the actor playing Fred didn't smoke! He'd be like "Ok, I'll advertise these, but I ain't smoking one of those Cancer Sticks! Not no way, not no how!"

  • GI JOE will punish them for advetising lung cancer

  • @MrConredsX "and now we know"

  • I'm going to start smoking because Fred says Winston's taste good...

  • good commercial, shame congress outlawed all cigarrette ads.

  • "And specially processed" LOL

  • No wonder so many kids started with Winstons.

  • winston's are disgusting

  • Whether you believe in the product or not, taken objectively, this is a great commercial.

  • Looks like in the olden days..people arn't smart enough to know it kills

  • hahah ahahah ahhaha

  • 1:08 nice slogan!

  • If Fred and Barney smoke, that means it's OK!

  • WINSTON is the most convenient in malaysia :)

  • damn those are huge ... its like a winston 400
