Dale died of a heart attack. Not from the crash. They wanted it to go down in history that he died driving. You can see just before his car went up he was slowing down in the pack. He was dead by then, he had no control of the car on the bottom of the Track.

It's really easy to underestimate those head on crashes into the wall. A lot of times you will see those crashes where cars are simply ripped to shreds and naturally think those are the worst. But what happened to Earnhardt here is probably the most deadly crash of all, especially at that angle.

Are you guys really paying attention to the video?! You can see clearly Sr. blocking and checking up with the others and he goes down while theres a "car low" (Marlin). No 1 touches him at all! Sr. actually touches Marlin's car and end up creating a self P.I.T. style maneuver. He thought he was clear. This is sad man,...but looking on the brightside we as humans learn through trial and error to become greater at what we do. And in turn this unfortunate event saves lives down the line...RIP SR.
