Yeah I am not sure about this but here is my 2 cents !

To develop a device that will crack 3DS security and be able to execute game is extremely complicated process and I am not too sure about 70% done on web site but if this is all true and there is flash card coming soon this is great news for all of us. It wouldn't hurt actual developers to update us on status of a project ...after all twitter is just few clicks away .....

You guys have to know that this card is a Joke (FAKE), there was never a real crown3DS in development and the card shown on this video is the ORIGINAL Splinter cell game attached to some wires, thats all, nobody has emulated or unlocked the 3DS-mode on a 3DS console.

This uses a method called Cloning, early GBA cards were clone cards.

Clone cards cannot be used for homebrew, they make 1:1 copies of a game and can only hold 1 game at a time.

Using this method does not require a cracked 3DS Mode.

But in the future it's gonna get mgs2, mgs3, mgs rising, bioshock, wipeout 2048, final fantasy 10, call of duty, ninja gaiden, monster hunter, and shit loads more. Apparently, that screen problem your talking about is already fixed so no problems there. I couldn't care more for remote play since i dont have a ps3 anyway. FYI the analog doesn't hurt one bit. it actually feels good with it clicking

@redninjarafael 3DS Encryption cant boot into a 3DS-mode menu, but it is possible to flash a 3DS cart correctly so that the game mistakens it as the real game, although this method is much more expensive and bulky. This was probably a hastily put together hardware just to make sure that this method would in fact work. Even so, there's many obstacles ahead for Crown3DS's development.

@redninjarafael The 3DS has been out for little under a year; not nearly enough time to make a fully-functional flashcard. A flashcard in such early stages can't expected to have a full-blown GUI. These guys aren't magic, this stuff takes time. 3DS roms can already be dumped. If this is real, the flashcard in the video was programmed to auto-load the 3DS rom when the game was launched. No need for a menu. You do have a valid argument though. We don't have any indication of this being real.

There are no exploits in the 3DS firmware found as of yet that would allow unsigned code to boot in 3DS mode, hence no menu. Provided that this cart is real, it only mimics the original cartridge. If that's the case, it will only support one game at a time. It's actually pretty simple.

@diegofg10 Both the SNES and the N64 allows unsigned code to run normally without any issues thus those two actually HAVE flashcarts that allow storage of multiple ROM's nowadays. Back then it was more a matter of high FLASH memory prices rather then tech.

Here there's the security barrier hackers have to overcome first. Until then, the only sensible solution is cartridge mimicry, thus yes, only one game at a time.

Even if this isn't a fake video, Nintendo will fight against such piracy practices with regular firmwares and they even can bock unauthorised hard- and software. I wouldn't risk that, even if you have already bought a nice game collection from the shop. Microsoft has already banned millions of consoles for this reasons and the same could happen with the 3DS.
