@chaz1453 I have played the map, but to me it just doesn't seem right. Like it just seems to be in the middle of a field with no rocks or a small hill to defend. However I could give it a try for a video one of these days.

Why did you have to have so many British, there were less than 200 in the real battle.

@chaz1453 Already answered that. Because the game engine does not allow to have the mean spread far enough apart. If I only brought 200 men I would be in 1 corner of the compound making the battle useless because the zulu can just swarm behind me.

@chaz1453 it is not my mod. and no I do not think it would work, as the fact that in some areas there would still be giant holes as they can only be formed in straight lines and cannot curve to the curve of the wall. Not to mention the zulu already in the mod are WAY overpowered to replicate this battle. Even with the correct numbers(i have tried it) they will swarm through and slaughter the soldiers within minutes. Now if it was human Vs human of course you could play differently.

@Talbot6832 nope breech loading one shot rifles using a variant of black powder as the charge, the zulu's would have had a fairly large number of flintlocks though

big problem is they guns they used didn't smoke like this they where breech loaders and used bullets

@leorrubin also have to remember that there was A LOT more men firing at once in this video, hence more smoke, if I had the little more then 100 represented there would be next to none.

isandlwana? wasnt there a problem with handing out the ammunition? like the boxes were fasten too tight on them or something?

@leonreaper90 That and supposedly they were trying to keep a paper trail of each and every round handed out etc.. But it can't really be known if that was 100% the case. But I don't think all the ammo in the world would have turned the outcome a different way. They may have killed more Zulu warriors because they had more ammo, but I doubt they would have fended them off. But the ammo should have been distributed to the firing lines instead of having it all in a central area.

@TCRStaff It was untrue. There was an archeological dig a few years ago when the Welsh Fusileers went to South Africa. The Zulu oral history of The battle was quite different than the British story, and it did not include the British running out of ammunition. They where too far forward and the Zulu Impi's swamped them.

@stevenczoski I was using the editor cam(gotta change the settiong in the settings file(forget where a quick google search will get you the answer) I know I used to many men but I cannot stand using the amount that was really there, as the Zulu are extremely over powered when you just use the 100 or so soliders. So what I do I max out the english(each group has about 200 men) so I have about 15 of them, then 2 Welsh, 1 Native levy, John Chard's brigade, and Bromhead's brigade.

300 legionnaires defeated 8000 Arabs, inflicting 2000 casualties while suffering 46 dead. The legionnaires weren't protected in a building, they were out in the open, and it makes the victory even more impressive.

@Burnzi2 Lines were too thin also, they should have easily repelled 20,000, the zulu numbers were irrelevant in the face of consistent fire.

@Legitimatemuffins consistent fire from properly aligned troops supported by artillery, on a relatively flat terrain would easily repel frontal attacks, or at least deal incredibly high casualties, far higher than those experienced at Isaldhwahna
