  • do you have the CTC warning? the one goo(dot)gl/K5HAH here

  • (A)19+ AJFRUGTH

  • When I see this, I think the ratings look like candies. The green color looks like eucalyptus, the yellow looks like lemon, the blue looks like mint, the red looks like strawberries, the purple looks like forest fruits and the black looks like liquorice

  • 0:43 It looks like a card :I

  • the +15 is unnecessary there should be a rating for: all ages, all ages but with parent, 13 year olds with parent, 17 year olds with parent, and 18 or older only. Having any other ratings inbetween, above, or below that is just unnecessary.

  • @Toreno88 : Having 17+ and 18+ ratings is unnecessary IMO given that there is only a one year gap in between them. Honestly, just how greatly is one expected to mature between the ages of 17 and 18? I feel that the Australian classification system (for the most part) is fair, though I strongly object to their lack of adult classifications for video games, and some of their classification decisions over the years have been mind-bogglingly absurd.

  • Basic breakdown of the Australian ratings...

    Advisory classifications:

G - Suitable for all ages

PG - Parental guidance recommended (Previously known as "G8+" for video games)

M - Recommended for mature audiences (suitable for over 15s)

    Legally restricted classifications:

MA15+ - Not suitable for under 15s; under 15s MUST be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian

R18+ and X18+ - Restricted to over 18s (the latter applies to sexually explicit content)

    RC - Refused classification (banned)

  • @sillygostly Its not whether you have matured enough it would just be the difference of if you are allowed to see it if you were accompanied by an adult or if you must be over a certain age. The +17 rating would if you were under the age of 17 you would still be allowed to watch it but if you came with a parent, but the +18 rating would be you must be over the age of 18 to see this even if you come with an adult. Movies in the +18 category would be: porn, extremely graphic violence, etc.

  • the oflc rating labels look ugly on dvd and game cases.

  • australia is a wierd country

like games fear 2 and fallout 3 are 18+ in uk but in australia they are both ma15+ hmph unfair

  • The oflc is a joke a bad joke they need to bring in a third party rating system such as pegi in britain as a helper outerererererer for the bbfc But theres gunna be a r 18 for vidoe games soo so hopefully no more censorship

  • @almastar21 : People seem to be forgetting that there will still be censorship even if an R18+ rating is legislated for video games. Anything that falls within the RC category (read the guidelines) could also be banned.

  • @sillygostly Yeah but with a r18 rating in place we should be seeing less games RC which is brilliant, and i agree with you but the OFLC cannot compare to the bbfc or PEGI with the American rating system i think it could also be improved

  • @sillygostly maybe manhunt 2? LOL, nothing good, GTA V will certainly fit

  • R18 does not exist in Australia at least from what i heard

  • Yes it does. It simply doesn't exist for video games.

  • Just wondering if you can tell me where you downloaded these from (Please) cause I need High quality versions for my presentation, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Send me a private message containing your e-mail address (don't post it here as you'll probably be flooded with spam), and I'll send you the individual clips. :-)

  • All ratings are clear enough to understand.

But what I don't get, is that Movies and DVDs are allowed to have the R18+ ratings, but Videogames are only able to have up to the MA15+???

And what is the average age of the Australian Videogamer???

over 30 years of age, that is what a new study that was done late last year.

So why not an R18+ rating for Videogames???

It is always having to be a unaminus decision by the Attorney Generals, but there is always one who will not agree.

  • Unfortunately, the power to legislate an R18+ classification for video games is completely out of the Classification Board's control, and is (as you've mentioned), purely within the control of one asshole Attorney General.

It's complete madness, especially since most video game consoles nowadays have parental controls.

  • Thier the Reason WHY Wii is STILL Strong in Australia.

  • theres no r18 rating for videogames because of an idiot known as Michael Atkinson, he keeps vetoing all the attempts.

    (is vetoing even a word?)

  • The only classification "video" thats not available is the "check the classification closer to the release date" the only one available is the out-of-date, old one.

  • There is, in fact, an X18+ clip: classification [dot] gov [dot] au [slash] resource [dot] html?resource=566

(Thanks YouTube for making me have to mangle the URL...)

If you remake this to include that one, maybe you could include ?resource=533 too - it's got a similar use, even though it looks a bit different.

  • Thanks for those. Yes, I'll try to post a revised version with those two clips shortly. :)

  • The X18+ rating does not appered.

  • I've mentioned in the description that there is no X18+ clip as X18+ rated movies aren't allowed to be advertised.

  • Yes, it does not appeared.

    LEARN ENGLISH ASSHOLE.

  • Thanks for this!! Was actually looking everywhere for them.

  • Thankyou. very helpfull

  • tanking joo :P

  • Cheers for that :)

  • Hmm...very helpful, now i know how the R-rating preview show up...

    Thanks :)
