Johnn has a condition called "Nystagmus" which his eyes move involuntarily back and forth. He can't drive or read at all unless it's exactly at a perfect position in front of him to see it. He has to be guided around and is considered leagally blind. Other than that, this guy is the most versatile guitar player out now. He can do it all. Pick, tap, country, blues, bluegrass, metal,etc. I'd put him up against anybody in the business today. Satriani, EVH, Chet Atkins, all of them.

I remember reading an article years ago in which Eric Clapton stated Stevie Ray Vaughn was one of the most impressive guitar players he's ever seen because no matter what he's playing, he's never lost on a guitar...I think that same flattery can be said of Johnny Hiland!
