This seems like a really good idea for kids cycling to school.
I used to ride my bike to school on narrower side streets with less car traffic, and I had a couple of friends who would join me. We need calmer streets, though, in general. 20-35 m.p.h. should be the maximum in urban and suburban areas for a whole host of reasons, including making cyclists safer and more comfortable.
Ride single file on the left edge of the road to let cars past...
Riding all over the road like this and blocking all traffic behind you, you are enraging the general population and provoking dangerous driving or road rage.
I think these are quite an australian thing, the first of these were the 'human' bus (I believe), where loads of school kids would form a bus and walk to school - and then it took off from there - great idea!
Fo sho! I started biking to work a couple months ago, but have never heard of a bike bus before! I wonder if they have them here in the states? I live in Seattle, and of any city hear, I would think we would. I will have to check that out. Only thing I know of remotely close is critical mass, where bikers get together once a month to take over the streets of downtowns all over the country. I love that, as well. :)
The trouble is that the vast majority of motorists are doing just about everything else than paying attention to what theye are supposedly doing, driving a car.
It's all to common for a cyclist to be hit from behind in broad day light regardless to what they are wearing.
What is the common motorist mantra? I didn't see them.
This is a really good idea for visibility and safety. It's a lot harder to right-hook (is it left-hook down there?) a whole pack of cyclists than it is to hook just one. Well done, folks!

safety in numbers. Remove your silly helmet laws for over 18s and ull see a massive rise in people using bikes and cars will take better care.

It is a great idea really to bike to work, but c'mon the reality is you stink the whole day. Good luck with that.

What an awesome idea!
I don't know about those vests though. It seems like a pack of bikers would be noticeable enough without them.
