@alucard9119 sorry to disappoint you, but uconn beat stanford in last years championship, maybe u recall  very well known player by the name of maya moore who took over the last 5 minutes of the game, that ended stanford season on national tv. with more being voted mvp of the tournament. yeah i know stanford ended uconn win streak, but maya moore had the worst game of her career that day. if stanford is lucky enough to beat texas a & m..... uconn will beat stanford again. for the championship

Pathetic that these two schools don't play each other once a year. Terrible for the game. Pat needs to get over her hissy fit about Maya Moore's recruitment and do what's right for her sport. She's a good coach, but head to head against Geno he's clearly had the upperhand in the series, especially in the national title game (4 wins to 0). She opted not to play UConn anymore because she knew with Moore on the team, UConn would be unbeatable (literally 78-0 the past two years). Had they played, UConn would have DESTROYED Tennessee by 25+ points.

You say Geno wasn't in the hunt until Maya arrived, but the same goes for Pat. She wasn't in the hunt until Candace Parker arrived, so I don't see what you're trying to say. They haven't "been in the hunt" since she left either. Just this past year, Tennessee exited the NCAA tournament with a first round loss. UConn, on the other hand, went 39-0 en route to the championship.

ok, so first of all, im not talking about the men's league (btw they lost one of their starters to a knee injury so that might have contributed to that) i am talking about Geno Auriema's WOMEN's basketball team. someone can't be jealous of something they haven't had a CHANCE to do. Geno has only coached 779 games, so that is why he hasnt gotten 1000 wins. oh and also, pat summit wont play uconn cuz shes scared they will get creamed. and i dont blame her.

Pat won't play Geno because she is a spoiled baby who feels entitled to every recruit and thinks everyone in women's basketball should worship her. Geno took that away by being better than her. Also, UConn is back on track to being the most dominant team for the next 3-4 years and Pat doesn't want her losing record against Geno to get worse.

(1of2)I have to wonder what's really behind the "beef" between the coaches but if they don't want to talk no problem. In this past 2007-2008 season it's obvious Connecticut doesn't have it right now. I'm sure it isn't easy for Geno to walk on the court to play Coach Summitt and the Vols when he knows they don't have it right now.
