I need a place in Kentucky that teaches Muay Boran. I love this form of Martial Arts elegant, but deadly. Turns out that Sitsuphan camp is in Massachusetts. It's about 17 hours away, but I will train there soon probably next year some time with some saving.
i really like the ritual beforehand, i wish I understood what it meant. it seems like it shows mutual respect though with is something lost on our western fighting style *cough mayweather cough*
@daaskapital1 you will soon have a Sitsiam Camp in Australia, because my must senior student Kru Carl Johnson the one on the Video doing the more spectacular techniques is going to live there.
@thaiboxing2008 Hello Kru Tony. daaskapital here. I was wondering if there is any new information on Kru Johnson and a Sitsiam camp in Australia yet? Thankyou very much.
@superdarkmario2 It very well could have some of the techniques from Muay Boran, because there was a French colony living in Ayutthaya, Thailand during the 16th century and Muay Thai (Muay Boran) bouts were very popular.
@Itachi429 I'm a student of Por Kru Samai of Buddhai Swan, Thailand. I have been training in The Thai Martial Arts for over 34 years, I live in Manchester, England. that is how ? thank you for your interest in the Thai Martial Arts. Kru Tony Moore
@MJPN I think it is very hard to find Real Teachers in Muay Boran, many Teachers teach only the sport of Muay Thai. I went to Norway many years ago to fight in Muay Thai. you are welcome to come to my school The Sitsiam Camp in England to learn.
@YoutmanCuzFamBredrin The Camp as never been in Altincham ? we were in Clayton Manchester for over 10 years and then moved to Ashton-under-Lyne we have been here for 14 years.
Amazing demostration of skills, please let me know when you will be in NY to teach those seminars, i would love to attend, have been wanting to study muay boran for quite a while now but it's hard to find anyone who teaches it in this area
Please contact me here or you can email me at dvasquez001@gmail.com
Did anyone notice the whole demo was on a concrete floor? Great leg skills by both practitioners. There were no hand skills displayed because that's not really the Thai way. Westerners have exposed Thai styles by using good hand skills to set up leg/knee/elbow strikes thus beating a lot of Thai's at their own game. However this has forced the Thai's to learn better hand skills also, making them even more complete. Iron sharpens iron. Great style, great art. Sensational!!!
What was showing here just demonstration but if it is real fighting...it gonna be the same. Thanks for shareing some of your wonderful techniqe. love it.
Seems like they have pretty good Muay Boran schools in England... wish they had some near me in upstate NY. Obviously not a serious fight, but an excellent demonstration of skills none the less... Great job fellas.

well your kinda wrong there...if your from thailand, doesnt it make more sense that theyd rather tell you that muay thai boran is from muay thai. especially coming from your grandfather..well they are one of cambodias main enemy along with the chams ( modern day vietnam)
You're the one have to do more research, I don't care about what you said. What I know is my grand grand parents tought me. They born before me 2-3century and they have tough me the right thing, If you not believe me GO to Thai Boxing sociation and ask them, they will tell you same thing as what I have says. Thai is Thai. Khmer is Khmer. If Khmer really good in fighting HOW Come you have a little country to stay? What the shame
look at the facts, thailand came from around china and reached the khmer empire because the mongols chased them out of china to there...all of muay boran fighting style had affiliation with the Hindu mythology...they had no affiliation with hindu watsover during the time they reached the khmer empire...and when they arrived in the khmer empire, khmer boran was already carved in the walls of Angkor...and also the word boran is a word from the sanskrit that the khmer adopted.
@Sharingan209 I knew Sanskrit 'mavya' became 'muay' in Thai, but I am having trouble figuring out how the word 'Boran' comes from Sanskrit. I had always heard that was an indigenous Thai word meaning 'ancient' or 'old-timey'. Do you happen to know the supposed Sanskrit form of the word? Or, failing that, the Khmer term from which you claim it was borrowed? Just curious, as a Sanskritist.
I love watching martial arts at its best...almost brings a tear to your eye. I am not a Muay practitioner but I certainly respect it along with all real MAs. One day the world will wake up from the dream of MMA and learn to be a whole martial artist.
@Fajjani Honestly, it's not that much more dangerous than regular muay thai. People say that it's a sport with all sorts of regulations so it's less deadly. Well that's crap, the kind of regulations they put in place were things like no grappling (a big part of muay boran) and no headbutts. That being said, muay boran is a more complete martial art but there's no secret death punches and any strike that could kill someone in muay boran is in muay thai.
@armadilloHD Whatever you can do anything in muay boran. Muay thai is watered down muay boran just think about that. Hello muay boran was designed to take a guy out as quickly effectively as possible. Anytime you put rules on an art it becomes stylized then you have rules regulations that without guys may go nutz and kill one another. I aint saying both are not effective forms of combat. But to say it aint much deadlier is nonsense.
Seriously awesome. These guys are like stuntmen from martial arts films. Theyre not doing full contact except places like the arms and palms I believe.
why arent once of these in NYC?

May this be the worlds most dangerous martial art?
Fajjani 2 years ago 37

@armadilloHD Just think of it like this there 2 completely different mind sets.2 different arts.

@armadilloHD just because you don't know of any secret punches or moves doesn't mean they don't exist.

Seriously awesome. These guys are like stuntmen from martial arts films. Theyre not doing full contact except places like the arms and palms I believe.
