Also if you search thru the videos on youtube you will find ones that use just the fumes to run motors and will never stop. so basically 1 quart of gas can run your engine indefinately just off fumes

Deep cycle marine batteries are better, I've used truck batteries and they sulfate if you don't always charge them full

You can dig a hole for the generator to sit in to dampen the noise to almost non existence. US Army does this on maneuvers. :D

WOW!!! I'm on my way to doing something like this at my home in the city. But, I placed a muffler on my 21hp Briggs and got 2 alternators for it. Come to find out that the alternators when charging together see the high output from each other and automatically stop charging. Thinking the batteries are fully charged. So now I have a backup alternator. Sam

If you diode protect the output frmo the altnerators, they shouldn't backfeed into each other and cause each other to turn off. Not sure how much a diode that can handle that kind of wattage would be.. (40W? 80W?).. There's likely other clever ways to do it, but i'm not an engineer. :)

Try a charge controller with dual inputs, maybe?

bore a hole in your carb an run alcohol (ethanol) and brew your own alcohol and distill it to about 180 proof.

or if you didnt want to apply to the ATF for a still license, the ethanol is miscible in gasoline if its 50/50 mix or under.

Nope, the camp is located on a Walleye/Pike lake that has 5 camps on it, the camps are spread out all over the lake, the closest to me is over a mile away.

I don't know about that low-cost bit, you look like you have some expensive equipment there. Namely with regard to the batteries.

you can make a silencer for the muffler by welding a 2 foot piece of tube. The sound reverberates in the tube and cancels out the sound. You can tune it with a piece of all thread and 3 washers that fit in the tube. Drill holes in the washers in the center and around the edges. Use nuts to hold the washers in place. Move the washers up and down and slide in the tube to test. Start With 0", 6", 2'. The 6" space takes out the high pitch 1'6" the low pitch. It is amazing how quiet you can get it.

He had a point get a bigger belt and I bet it can easily handle 2 alternators or locate a high amp alternator that will put out more juice save you some hours on the motor. Also try to make browns gas to introduce to the engine it will improve efficiency almost free.

That is if that stuff really works. I like what you have done it had to be fun to see what can be done.I have been told it isnt what you produce in a system it is what you consume use led lighting etc...

What would be the max amount of alternators you can hook up on a small engine I was told that a good automotive alternator can put out 160 watts each. Trying to power small electric car if I can find a electric motor for it. PS just a thought

I posted this video just to show people my set up, yes running a lawnmower engine isn't the cleanest, I seldom run the lawnmower anyways, I used to run a big 4000 watt generator but not anymore, with the amount of wind and sun my batteries recharge themselves from half to full in a couple weeks, I use the engine only if there is no wind while I'm there, its a great setup, charges the batteries from half to full in 8 hours of runtime using the lawnmower engine, 10 bucks in gas.

Hey I recoment to do some research about HHO fuel cell`s. Because you can make these things and save about 25% of your gas!! and your mileage!!

PS: how much energy does the battery`s give you when they are full charged??

woow that's my dream men i live in florida in an aparment i got 2 mitsubishi panels they put 320 watt's and i got a charge controler it's the prostar from morningstar ,i got a 1200watt converter cheap one but my problem is where i live ,they don't letme put my panels out .but i love what u did good gob..

I think the proof of concept is great; he could substitute a low rpm one cyl diesel/wvo for power but so many small (lawnmower) engines are available (for free), why not use one? The set up is great for small remote locations where nature and rustic beauty can be appreciated.

its not possible to substitue a low rpm diesel without a gear box, alternators and generators require atleast 3600 rpm's to produce peak apm's and voltage.
