This response is to PaulinaRena. My group (Country Tradition) of 21 years that I retired in 2004 always wore matching uniforms for every show. I got so used to seeing this growing up with country music and thought it was so professional that I wouldn't have it any other way. We played nothing but classic country and you wouldn't believe the response we got everywhere we went. It's like people were starved for real country music and professionally dressed entertainers. I will always miss it.
This was Bill Phillips' biggest seller. But for my money, two years earlier he released a single on Decca called Wheeling Dealing Daddy that definitely ranks as one of the most perfect country records ever made, bar none. Yes, it's that good. He is greatly, greatly missed.
I do think this is also from the movie "Road to Nashville". This is a movie I would love to see. There are so many country music stars in it that it's a wonder the whole place didn't glow. This is a wonderful song and done so well by Ruby and Bill.
Musicians are: Farris Coursey-drums, Joe Zinkan-bass, Jerry Whitehurst-piano (not visible in video), Spider Wilson-guitar in center, Jerry Byrd-steel, Walter Haynes-guitar (to the right of Spider)
This song was written by Dolly Parton and her Uncle Bill Owens--Bill Phillips and Ruby sounded so great-sorry that Ruby passed away this past Sunday.
This was from the Kitty Wells/Johnnie Wright show from the 1960s, in which I watched reruns of when I was a kid in the 1970s. This clip includes Bill Phillips, who was a part of the Wells/Wright show package, and Ruby Wright, Kitty and Johnnie's daughter.
I made an error in saying what show this video came from. Another copy of this clip was posted on YouTube, and it was actually from The Bobby Lord Show, not the Kitty Wells/Johnnie Wright Show as mentioned in my last post.
Thanks so much for posting this one. I've heard these two sing this in person a couple of times in years gone by. Some people may not know, Ruby Wright is Kitty Well's daughter. FIVE STARS!
One my favorite country songs from the 60's. I made it a point to collect all of Bill Phillip's Decca records. He is a good country singer. Last I heard he was in poor health. Great post.
I've always loved this song. Bill has a nice pleasant voice. He and Ruby look so sharp in their outfits and I do miss seeing the majority of entertainers who have made classy and professional appearances in their careers. This is the first time I've heard Ruby sing. A good job here. Thank you for posting. - Paula

Great clip of Bill Phillips and Ruby Wright, whom I believe he was married to at the time. This is from the Bobby Lord Show.

Super job by both Bill and Ruby. Ruby's harmony fits so well with Bill's voice and he is one of the best singers country music has ever known.
