  • what equipment are you using to get that sweet tone? amazing playing, you inspire me so much

  • do you build E-Bass pickups as well?

  • hey you look like Jack Black in school of rock!

hah, apart from that, you are amazing, you sound really great!

    greats from argentina

  • 1:36 is the best! nice riffage!

  • how much for those pickups youre using?

    that tone is so fat

  • $130 US each or $250 for a calibrated pair.

  • hey do u sll those pickups in strat form?

  • not a dis, but that sounds paper thin and fuzzy

  • @cast390 cool man thanks..

  • to me its a great tone, but I guess most of it comes from your fingers!

  • BTW Paul, I know I've probably said this before, but you keep makin' & sellin' enuff of them pickups, you'll be rich enough to put some nice, fancy, exotic cars in your driveway! :D Just a thought!

  • Do you offer them in F-spacing (For us Floyd Rose users)?

  • I don't think it would be a problem.

  • doesn't really sound like a les paul anymore

  • sounds like a beast, and really really ANGRY

    hahaha

  • Have you ever considered selling your custom pickups?

I would buy a pair for my les paul custom

  • I do sell them. Contact me for details.

  • hey riffguy.. how do u just get these cool random backing tracks.. do u make them or where can i find them??...

  • I just make them.

  • ohhhh awesome man can u send me 1 through email!

  • Hey riffguy, I play classic rock, metal, classical, blues. How much would 2 of these pickups cost? What do you think about GFS humbuckers?

  • The price for a set of 2 would be $250.00 USD.

I've never heard of GFS humbuckers before.

  • Joey Taylor here. Wanted to tell everyone that Cycle of pain band endorses only Riffbucker pickups because they make sweet, sweet tone !!!!!! Gobbs of power when needed with that sweet tone down low !!!!!

  • like to hear this guy play some old jeff beck tunes.

  • Damn you're good!

  • I can hear a bit of EVH in you at some times anyways, great sound man!

  • the judge says: guilty on making awesome music with an awesome tone

  • i would buy some

  • I'd love to put one of those in my Les Paul! Hey Riffguy! how much do you think it would cost me to get two of those shipped to Norway?

  • just check on the internet dude.... lol

  • *drool* so much bight, the harmonic content is very nice! Nice carpet too! I bet you could lose your picks in that REAL easy!

  • Just ordered an Excess-1. I would suggest you order one too !!!!!

  • 1:36 to 2:00, some great bends there

  • Very blusey. i like them, great going!

  • realllly impressive, but for everyone saying the pickup makes this awesome tone, thats not the only part of it, im sure riffguy wants everyone to know that alot of it comes from the fingers, believe me i didnt believe it at first but after some practice, it really does all depend on the guitarist's fingers rather than the pickup, even though the pickup does help in some ways.

  • when your doing your triplets during the high breakown of your peice what ecxactly are you doing??

  • whats up Paul?cool jam ,nice guitar;peace[Freddie]

  • did you refinish your Les Paul Traditional, or is that a different axe?

  • This is a different one.

  • riffguy, did they offer you a job to make those pickups?

  • Who?

  • in the video, "high output riffbucker demo" it said king blossom guitars asked you to make these pickups. are they paying you?

  • I wasn't offered a job, but they've shown interest in the sound of my pickups for quite a while and placed an order for some. They also asked for a special high output version, which is the model you hear in this video. If all goes well, Riffbuckers may become an option in their guitars.

  • To be honest, if I was Gibson I'd start putting these in some Les Pauls as a standard option - they sound far better than some of the burstbuckers do

  • hey man, this sounds great!!! love the sound of it.. how much would you charge for a riffbucker ?

  • loving the wall of Marshall's ! =)

  • what was the approximate time lapse between making the pickups? if you mind me asking of course?

  • If you're asking me how long it takes to make a pickup, I'd say it takes about 3 hours which includes the wax potting.

High output pickups take a little longer since there is more time spent winding them.

  • oh really you have the machines for it im guessing since its not very long at all

  • I built a winding machine but I still have to guide the wire onto the coil bobbin by hand.

  • Would these be available to purchase? Sounds so versatile, yet so good at a good Classic Rock and Metal tone. I was thinking about EMGS but they are good for only Metal and Hard Rock really...but these pickups wouldn't really suite my Ibanez :(

  • I'll be building a website soon, but for now you can order them directly through me. If you want more information, send me an email.

  • yesh riffguy awesome vid man

  • Great playing paul ..

    Those pickups sounds sweet ..

  • And we can buy these pickups where?

  • Some mean soundin Humbuckers !!

  • Top notch playing

  • what the hell is your job?

  • great stuff riffguy

  • 4:32 to 4:38 was Mike Schenker territory! Recently I have studied his technique and he rarely uses his pinky finger on super fast chops...
