I did a project on this issue for one of my classes and before people start pointing fingers, I think they should know the history and how deep rooted this issue truly is. Many of the people in the Akwa Ibom region of Nigeria are very poor and extremely religious. Many of them have radical Christian beliefs and the church leaders are the ones who claim these innocent children to be witches. Sadly these children are being exploited and abused. Church leaders make a very large profit from this.

It should be interesting to analyse how these religious people reason and what their sincere feelings are, this is a clear indication how morals are subjective.
A person might be convinced that their child is a witch, first thing a normal person would do is try and help the kid at risk of their own life, but it looks like these people accept it as if its the will of a god, and they will never question god, and they are willing to obey god orders to kill the child.

I did a project on this issue for one of my classes and before people start pointing fingers, I think they should know the history and how deep rooted this issue truly is. Many of the people in the Akwa Ibom region of Nigeria are very poor and extremely religious. Many of them have radical Christian beliefs and the church leaders are the ones who claim these innocent children to be witches. Sadly these children are being exploited and abused. Church leaders make a very large profit from this.

Look at the violent nations like Palestine, Afghanistan, Somalia or Haiti. All are poor, violent, and 100% religious.
Think about the most educated, safest nations on earth: Canada, Japan, Scandinavia, New Zealand, etc. all largely non-religious.

True, but there are ignorant people out there who seem to follow the "one/some represents all" mindset. As for God, I believe in God. IMO, SOMETHING made us. But some aspects of Christianity I ignore because of how hypocritical it is. Like for starters, homosexuality.
