@ronaldo910messi thank you, i appreciate that. i actually did send it to MS. unfortunately my old xbox was refurbished by a 3rd party and therefore the seal was broken and the warranty was void.

@marksickmiller yes, but theirs still a problem with the new units, its somewhat rare to happen but. now to prevent Red Rings, the system shuts down automatically. but i know some people whos xbox would keep shutting down every 10 minutes, so they had to send it in for it to be repaired, whats funny is that it was replaced not fixed.
