Great tutorial. It looks great on you! I would recommend others to use a black sock...or a sock close to their hair color, just to help camouflage the sock or sponge in case there is a slight peak of it between the hair :)

Love this style! I'm so frustrated with how my hair looks when I put it up in a ponytail. My hair is natural as well, but no matter what I do, gel or no gel, It never lays down flat and slick like yours. It always has a very flyaway look to it and it looks puffy. What am I doing wrong? Your advice about not waiting until your hair is longer is so true. I've done styles similar to this with my own hair and using a knee high stocking for a bun and once using a little kinky marley hair for the buns another time. Fake it till you make it!

What did you use to slick back because I may need to get some. I normally use Eco styler gel with olive oil but I don't get results like that.

Only thing I'm concerned about for me is the twists in the front, I still have relaxed hair on the ends and sometimes twists don't come out wo perty if ya catch ma drift.
