@polarpatty1 Actually he's right. I was born and raised around clogging, and the whole point is to see AND hear the dance using the clogs. Otherwise its not clogging its just dancing. Which these girls are excellent at, but it would have been much more enjoyable (To me at least.) if they had did it traditionally.
I like this so much I keep coming back, and watch it 4-5 times every time I do. I had never seen this type of dance before this video.
And I don't know why, but I feel drawn to the girl on the center -first row- her moves are so fluid and smooth, she makes it look so easy. It's as if she was born to dance.

Am I really deep into Clogging? No. I am into incredible timing, unbelievable syncopation, impeccable match of song and step. SB's aren't this good every performance. But this one is a bar setter - a judges reference tool.
Why no Cloggs?....is'nt this just tap dancing, to a country song...or is it clogg dancing thats been corrupted by 'modern' dancers into tap?.....that wear tap shoes?.
@gotmihandstuck Those clogging shoes I think are more modern, but they're not tap shoes. Tap shoes have only one tap on the ball and heel of the shoe, while clogging shoes have double taps that click together when you step. They're really fun.

I can see the point in using double tap shoes, it enhances the sound more, but I think the 'Modern' style is creeping in to the dancing, which will ruin it. I find that 'modern' dancing is getting more and more into the clogging steps, but it's still keeping the essence of origional clogging in the dance.
No matter what form of clogging you're doing, it always promises fun. Fun in every single step. Clog on, and be hapy! :)

Clogging shoes have 2 part taps on the toes and 2 parts on the heel. That means the dancer has to work much harder to get the double clicks in. FANTASTIC exercise and lots of fun!

As someone born in the South, I am always amazed to see people respond to parts of more generational American culture in a positive way. Sadly, we moved North, and it was just about hating Southern people. I hope to leave the North! There is no traditional American culture there, not really.

I wish there was a higher resolution performance of the Stars and Stripes video performance they put on. The stars and stripes were in the "junior" category,under 18 or something like that,the AGT girls were all over 20,I think. In fact the girl that does the talking on AGT,id the owner and choreographer of the dance steps. He name is Blake. Southern Belles is her trademark dance studio,i think.
@ausparkles79 Check out "America's Got Talent 2008, Southern Belles" on Youtube. Four of these ladies did an audition in Atlanta two years ago that is the most electrifying, perfectly performed dance of any kind that I've ever seen. They have some kind of dance school in Georgia that is run by, I believe, two sisters (?) anyway, they're phenomenal teachers and they should have won AGT two years ago.

Seen lots of Riverdance etc performances but never seen clogging before - wow .

this is great! i have been dancing for about 12 years now and clogging for 7 and the place i dance at is just getting a dance team and i made it i hope we can do as good as this is!

Talk about natural rhythm, the girl front row center was born with rhythm to spare.

Clogging shoes have 2 part taps on the toes and 2 parts on the heel. That means the dancer has to work much harder to get the double clicks in. FANTASTIC exercise and lots of fun!

As someone born in the South, I am always amazed to see people respond to parts of more generational American culture in a positive way. Sadly, we moved North, and it was just about hating Southern people. I hope to leave the North! There is no traditional American culture there, not really.

Thanks for responding Kaptkan1. I saw the AGT video and wondered if it was the same ladies or just a coincidence with the name. I agree they should have won AGT. Simply incredible!! I wish there was a higher resolution performance of the Stars and Stripes video performance they put on. It was pretty fuzzy and I was trying to see their faces to figure out if it was some of the same girls on AGT. Thanks for confirming this for me. I am a definite fan!! Outstanding performances!!

The stars and stripes were in the "junior" category,under 18 or something like that,the AGT girls were all over 20,I think. In fact the girl that does the talking on AGT,id the owner and choreographer of the dance steps. He name is Blake. Southern Belles is her trademark dance studio,i think.

@ausparkles79 Check out "America's Got Talent 2008, Southern Belles" on Youtube. Four of these ladies did an audition in Atlanta two years ago that is the most electrifying, perfectly performed dance of any kind that I've ever seen. They have some kind of dance school in Georgia that is run by, I believe, two sisters (?) anyway, they're phenomenal teachers and they should have won AGT two years ago.
