Besides, codified consititutions like the US constitution aren't great either - they're rigid, can become easily outdated (Second Amendment US constitution), can result in judicial tyranny, and may contain a political bias. A codified constitution does not guarantee a stable country - the UK's constitution is uncodified

As for 'the Liberal agenda', Labour has pursued and even extended the authoritarian approach to domestic and foreign policy that is the legacy of the Conservative governments of 1979-97. I don't agree that she was a long-term politician; it is very easy to make a link between the 'liberalisation' of the City and the aberrations of today such as huge bonuses and pensions paid to those who have led businesses to the wall and helped to fill up the lists of unemployed. Besides, if Thatcher had been such a long-term environmentalist, she wouldn't have sadistically killed off the mining industry for political reasons but invested in making coal a cleaner fuel

I don't see how what I said suggested burning more coal to solve the CO2 problem. Obviously the solution is to burn less in the way of fossil fuels. I'm happy to believe that Thatcher ordered research into and mentioned the environment-I didn't know that this was the case. I would be interested to know what she actually did to counteract global waming. I don't think that liberalisation of the economy was good for the environment.
