From his screams, overall power, use of drugs, use of cigarettes, throat operations to rid himself of lymph nodes, and studio recording, anyone's voice would blow after all that. Plant's voice made a change for the better in 1979 and 1980 so look that up too.

I'm trying to figure out why one guy seeing Hendrix on a bad night has put everyone into comparison-mode between Hendrix and Zeppelin. For one thing, they're not that comparable, Hendrix was strictly blues-based, Zeppelin was all over the place.
