Also songs which promote violence and have foul language are considered haram. These days many songs use instruments. Any song with instruments (apart from the daff) regardless of whether it is about Allah's 99 names is haram. Sorry to sound harsh but I feel like I have to pass the knowledge on, because on the Day of Judgement it will be used against me if I dont.

i know this is a nasheed.And a beautiful one at that, i have a question. i live in america and is surrounded by music and of course i know everyone else is in the world.

but Even tho i try to tune it out,i have a question i was told that music was haram when i guess when it has a beat to it. Or it talks about love or girls or nasty stuff.

but there are many nasheed that i love with

a beat to it...so i dont get it?

Unfortunately, these days, some Muslims use Music(instruments) in their (so called)nasheeds, which is Haram!

Asalam Alaikum Brother. Usually nasheeds are a good alternative to Shaytan's Adhan, Music. Usually solely the human voice, or the use of Duff (Islamic drum used during the Prophet's pbuh time) are permissible. String instruments are not permissible. I love nasheeds as well which fall under these two categories, however, the best of all things to listen to are the Qu'ran Al Kareem. It captivates your heart without any instruments involved. I would rather listen and read that than a nasheed! Wsalm

Music has been rendered as impermissible in both, the Quran and Ahadith. Below are few examples which are sufficient to illustrate the impermissibility of music in Islam.

QURAN

(1) Allah Taala mentions: In surah (Luqmân: verse 6)
