If my daughter, which I don't have right now but in the future may have, were to become pregnant, I don't care at what age under what circumstance, ever encountered an unplanned pregnancy I would support her completely and give her the opportunity so many women feel they can't take because of a a lack of resources. This is because first and foremost I am a parent and not a discrimninatory judge. As a parent we should not treat our daughters harshly and it is a deep shame that some do.

THAT is the problem -- sex education isn't the answer. Without morals & values taught in the home --- i.e. that real love between a man and woman united in marriage = blessed with a baby thus gift of life (instead of a mistake quoted by OBAMA). If his own moral compass isn't working -- how can he guide his own children with any moral standards?

But some kids aren't taught about sex at all because their parents have this moronic idea that if they never talk about it, the kid will never do it. Then the girl winds up pregnant. We're too afraid of discussing sex in a rational manner in this country. Obama doesn't think babies are mistakes: he thinks his daughters should have a choice.

How do you suppose you enforce abstinence?? It's a great idea and as a parent of a teenage daughter, I would love to believe that she would save herself for her future husband and it be special, but reality is where I live...not in the hopeful all life is great, rainbows and kitty cats world.

It almost goes without saying, but he was, of course, referring to whatever contingent of the pro-life movement that would actually view somebody's burden (yes, I said burden) of pregnancy and child-rearing as appropriate payback for their sins of the flesh. It's almost undebatable that any attitude resembling "punishing" somebody with a baby would be much more prevalent among those who view sex before marriage as a sin. He's referring to those same people enforcing a lack of choice. Thank you.

I still fail to understand how a sperm less than 1/4 the size of my thumb and an egg about 2x smaller is a sacred human being.
But personal opinion aside, you can go for one of the two extremes on this issue.
You can't overturn Roe V. Wade, and you can't amend the constitution to make it immortal.
You need to work together to reduce the number of abortions. The answers are really simple if you just look for them.
