Rikku does seem to get more exp at first, but what really happens is because everyone else has been gaining sphere levels throughout the whole game, and she hasn't, Rikku doesn't need as much EXP to level up.

I dont know if anyone else has done this but I like to teach Mug to Tidus, and Black magic for Yuna. I think taking Kimarhi down Wakka's path would make him stronger too, since it'd be another character who'd never miss which is helpful against those flying monsters >:)
