@stupullen They are from Göteborg (at least Bo, I don't know about the others, since they are not the same from day to day… I think Stephan Möller is from Jönköping though), yes. Competition? Threat? No. It's music. The only ones who compete in music are stupid fans. I'm not a fan of anything and I really don't understand people who are. Just listen to the bloody music or play music yourself (even more fun).
@stupullen Doing what better? The Spotnicks were not there at that occasion, I believe.
I did not see this concert, but I saw the one in Gävle 1989-03-31. Exactly where is this? Anyone? I know they played in many places at that short ”Sweden tour”, like Göteborg, Stockholm and Malung (don't try, you can never understand how to pronounce any of those places anyway, not even close… ;P ).
@stupullen No. 1 of what? They are not even doing the same thing… It's bloody music, not a damned competition. I don't even like the Spotnicks at all, but I just hate when people says that this is better than that, especially when they have no clue what so ever what they are talking about.
@stupullen Interesting. If you don't have anything to say, repeat what you just said and complete the whole thing with some insulting… Ok, I get it.
I still don't get that ”Spotnicks territory” thing, though. It's very rare here to find someone who has ever heard of the Spotnicks (nor the Ventures), so I guess their territory is somewhere else.
@guraknugen this is record from Malung Sweden on March-25.1989 Arild Pettersson. I do have other video of Spotnicks. In Japan 1998. Karelia. also Bingo Lotto Playing "Real Amapola" March.2011
and on youtube have video of Nokie and Bo playing together"Sleep Walk" you muse seen that...
@weedsan21 The first time I heard The Ventures was on a collection LP. Two of the tracks were by The Ventures: ”House Of The Rising Sun” and ”A Go Go Dancer” (which they called ”Swinging Creeper” for no obvious reason).
Then a friend of Arild gave me a cassette (this was in 1982 I think) with ”Greatest Hits” (not all songs) on one side and ”60's Pop” on the other side, and I thought like ”wow, this is the kind of music that I wanted to play all the time, but I never heard it before”…
Well, I've always preferred The Ventures before The Spotnicks, but they do very different things, and Bosse always picks really good drummers, like my favourite Björn Fryklund, who no longer plays with them.
I also like a few tracks of the Tracks album, 1995, especially those tracks with Albert Lee.
@weedsan21 Found it, but not on YouTube… Too bad that the sound quality was extremely poor (recorded by someone in the audience, well you all know how that sounds…).
Nice to see that someone has put this to YouTube!

@weedsan21 Okay, four days before I saw them at Fenix in Gävle then. I know Arild. He distributed my CD in 1998 and I visited him a couple of times.
By the way, it's ”Bingolotto”, not ”Bingo Lotto”. It's Swedish, not English… :)

@weedsan21 No, I haven't seen that Nokie and Bo-version of Sleep Walk, and I couldn't find it. A link perhaps?
