Sounds like somebody removed the airbox lid! Hehe... I did the same thing to my KLX. Are those handlebars stock or are they after market? Who makes them?
i have the 09 and i want to get this same exaust but i dont know if i need to get it jetted first if at all or latter and does it fit nicely. what else is done to your bike

i have 2007 klx250s and it fit perfect - only thing is you might to remove passenger peg in the back - this exhaust is for klx300 originally but fits klx250s perfect - 2005 -2007 klx300 is the same exact bike just 300cc

try the staintune exhaust for the klx250s 08 09 it will fit but it will be nearly as close to the indicators as before.but not as close to them as the muzzys are. ive got a 09 klx 250s and live on the coast too.i got team moto to order it for me.if you havent done it yet get the bike jetted dj128 main.twin air filter.remove airbox lid,or snorkel at least.staintune slip on exhaust if not full one.and a 13t front sprocket .major improvements and you will have another 5hp approx.thats 25%+ more hp
