Pilipinos think (my family included) that MONEY GROWS ON TREES in USA and impression that this is land of milk and honey. I do send money to my parent in PI often. They didnt realized that I work hard and struggle.
Anyway, what PI need are good politicians and leaders that are smart enough to solve the various problems. PI being 3rd world country has lots of problems. Too many poor people with not jobs. There is over population and no family planning. PI should impose one child policy.
Yeah, a family friend who's in her 60s is still working hard trying feed her family back home. The brother, the sister, the niece, nephew and their husbands and wives are relying on this one person working aboard.
Sad thing is, this old lady is diabetic, have heart problem and can only see with one eye. They never ask about her condition all they talk about is when you gonna send our Iphone, PSP, we need money for parties, etc etc...
She is herself to blame too but thats not the point.
Sad thing is the church would definately interfer like they have the solution to the problems, which they havent.
Its just a matter of time they gonna have to employ one child policy anyway, why make the situation worst before they do something. It does really puzzle me.
hi kabayan, i too have the same situation like most kabayans abroad, but i think the problem is not politician but more on culture and idealogy in life as a whole, the Politicians are corrupt cuz people are there for them to take advantage, in other words filipinos in PI BELIEVE that goverment is the key for them in getting RICH in status, so these politicians put up ads that they too relate to a common filipino but they have the answer for them to get the rich status they all been aspiring for.
change it step by step....focus on one thing first to the NEXT.. I think they should start on ....NOT LETTING POLITICIANS BUY THEIR VOTES. THen, END CORRUPTIONS and the rest will go smoothly ^^
Too many people in philippines relies on miracle waiting to happen. Instead of trying to make a living they would rather sit on their asses, smoking, drinking, making fun of people or just texting all day. Atleast clean your own backyard for fuck sake.
They rely on one person working abroad, this person work very hard and probably dont even have a decent clothes while the family back home is enjoying the money they receive like it will never run out.
To the majority, giggles here and there seems to be the priority in life. They love to spend alot of time doing something that doesnt even benefit them in the future. Whats the future of the philippines if majority think that way?
Yes Im a filipino and my family have worked very hard to get out of the ditch, it aint easy at all but its not impossible.
PACQUIAO is great. 88 million Pilipinos knows Manny. He's known all over the world for boxing afficionados.
If you ask 100 people here in USA, maybe 1 or 2 knows about Manny Pacquiao. You might ask why? Here's the explainations. Too many sports to watch for free on TV: NBA, NCAA, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, others. Boxing is NOT free to watch, cost $50 on TV. Few people in USA are boxing fans. Doesn't relate them.
In USA, less than 1 million watch Pacquiao vs Hatton
In YOUTUBE video, I type: "garbage philippines" To my surprised ( actually I was shocked), video of poor Pilipino family eating leftover in garbage dump. What a shame.
What happened to the government and politicians? Obviously, they have seen them in their own eyes. What have they done? Something has to be done with these poor people.
Do they just ignore them, and assume these condition donnot exist?
I feel the pain and sufffering, I'll say, they need help badly.
obviously this is a sport thread ,i dont see the relevance of what your talking... go search some coffin videos that will suit you if you die..YOURE OLD AND THINK YOUR ABOUT TO DIE ANY MOMENT NOW.. BITCH !!!
Bunch of "Flip" enjoying their countryman beat opponent.
What's the big deal? You should be more concerned about the poor people in the Pilippines, struggling and barely can feed themselves. No jobs, very few opportunities.
Manny Pacquiao does his job, plus he's so generous to his own people.
Filipinos in the U.S. always send food, clothes, money, and household goods back home to there relatives especially the less fortunate ones. Its common in the Filipino culture as well as Mexican and Latino cultures to help the less fortunate especially family.
Obviously your not Filipino and you wouldnt understand but if you hang out with a bunch of Filipinos and become real close to them they will take you in as family. Honest truth.
we are happy even though we dont have money :) as long as our body is in good shape and very healthy

Gloves on and get a bloody nose to learn boxing. Manny said.
But PI has lots of problems. Confront these problems HEAD-ON, in unemployment, over population, environmental problems, corruption, etc.
Are your leaders (government/politicians) solving these problems?
Watching Pacquiao, Charice, Arnel on TV like wowoweee does not solve these problems. It is good motivation factor.
But, you have to confront reality and not running away. It is hard work to resolve these problems.

...manny, arnel charice or anyone sucessful in life have worked very hard and thats the reason why they all made it to the top.
It doesnt matter who will run the country. Its like a culture to be corrupt, from top to bottom they are corrupts.
I doubt any govt can do anything, its the majority of the nation at fault. Most dont take things in life serious enough to get out of the ditch.
Even the doctors publish a video of a patient being operated on, what sort of mentality is that?
